Location

This simple apartment complex is centrally located in the town and tourist centre of the town yet still offers a quiet stopover point for those visiting the area. The nearest beach is approximately 500 m away and various shopping facilities, restaurants, bars and nightclubs are located in the hotel’s vicinity. Convenient public transport links are to be found within a few paces of the complex (600 m).

Facility

Guests are warmly welcomed at the reception desk in the lobby. 30 apartments are available. The apartment hotel provides a safe, a currency exchange service, a car hire service and 24-hour room service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. A bicycle hire service provides all the necessary equipment for exploring the surrounding area.

Rooms

A balcony is included as standard in some rooms. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. The rooms have a kitchenette with a refrigerator, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. A television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. Wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are also available. The hotel has family rooms and smoking rooms.

    This place gets a bad rep but honestly I don’t know why. Had a two bed apartment and it was tidy, clean and had everything you needed. Yes decor is dated but who cares, beds are comfortable enough, balcony private (we were upstairs) and the pool was cleaned and surrounding area is clean. Quite a quiet area, you get pool noise which is expected but traffic etc is fine. I honestly can’t complain about this place and I would stay here again! Great location to the strip, shops and eateries.

    Have come to Lanzarote for many years. This was by far the worst accommodation. I’ll break it down: Over 4 night stay. The apartment was never cleaned or attended to by anyone. Bins never emptied or toilet paper replenished etc. The apartment was clean ish when we arrived. Outside patio are was dirty. Steel table covered in thick dust. Pool are was never cleaned when we were there. Usually in similar apartments they take up and stack the beds and hose down the general area and clean the pool. Not here. This pool are was best described as dirty. There are way better apartments in Lanzarote for similar money. Would we return. Not a chance.

    The positives are good size apartment but with the most basic appliances. The area was quiet and the pool bar was lovely. Reception was only open limited hours but email in advance with your arrival time and they will give you instructions where to pick-up the keys. Good location with supermarkets close by. The only let down was the housekeeping. Sheets were not changed in 9 nights and towel and bins changed twice..this was the let down. The pool was regularly cleaned but the sunbeds were left messy and all over the place...a bit more TLC needed but it was ok.

    Sadly, we won’t be returning to what used to be one of our favourite hotels, Luz y Mar. It’s really gone downhill since our last stay.When we arrived, the bathroom absolutely stank of urine and the toilet was leaking. In the bedroom, paint was peeling off the walls and even from the ceiling above the shower, which didn’t give a great first impression. Cleanliness was also a big issue — after walking around the apartment for only about 20 minutes, the bottoms of our feet were dirty, and there were dust balls under the living room furniture.The bedding also had holes in it, which seems like something that should be a very easy fix.Unfortunately, the worst part was discovering baby cockroaches in the bathroom, At one point they were even in the bed, which was extremely unpleasant.Sadly, everywhere else in Lanzarote was fully booked at the time due to Cheltenham, so we had no choice but to stay. It’s very disappointing because this used to be a place we enjoyed staying, but after this experience we definitely won’t be returning.Pool area very clean and well maintained the staff at the pool bar are always fab and can’t go out of there way enough for you

    A great escape to some winter sun

    Had a wonderful 4 night stay at Luz Y Mar, shout out to the ladies at Kathys pool bar, great service, value for money and tasty snacks where on offer each day.Great location with supermarkets, bars and restaurants on your door step and bus stops to venture further afield.Old town of Puerto del Carmen only a stones throw away too.We will be back in April.Keep us a sunbed Kathy!Emma and Clive
