  The state of the tiles by the top pool under the gazebo are disgusting. Complained one and their “cleaning team” made it worse

  restaurant food could be improved due to limited opinions but Zak from entertainment was a sensational asset to the entire experience, he is extremely friendly and makes everyone's day better.   Our anniversay home away from home

  Room G1153 – We stayed for 10 days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was the third time we have stayed at the resort hotel on an all-inclusive holiday with TUI, and as always, we were greeted by warm and respectful staff who bent over backwards to accommodate our room requests. They even surprised us with a bottle of cava, glasses, and a celebration card for our special occasion.Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and most importantly for us, it was quiet and relaxing. Being located at the back of the hotel gave us lovely mountain views with a side view of the sea.There was a variety of entertainment every evening for both adults and children, along with activities throughout the day. The pools, sunbeds, and hotel grounds were always kept very clean.*A few things to note, however: the seating around the balcony areas has become very soft and saggy over time, lacking proper support and comfort. Also, the sound quality during the evening entertainment, particularly the singing, could not be heard clearly from the balconies due to the echoing acoustics in such a large open area. Perhaps a sound audit could be carried out and some adjustments made to improve the overall audio experience.The food was well cooked with plenty of variety, including options for guests following vegan or special diets. Personally, when I come to Spain, I like to experience the local culture and cuisine rather than English breakfasts with brown sauce. However, there were plenty of alternatives available, including cold meats, fruit, and cereals.*The snack bar was a little disappointing when we first arrived, as there was limited choice and variety available. However, this improved as our holiday went on, with more options becoming available later during our stay.This encouraged us to venture outside the hotel on some days to explore local Spanish eateries and bars, which was no bad thing at all.Whenever we visit Lanzarote, we try to use public transport as much as possible to travel around the island, and I would definitely recommend others do the same. It is reasonably priced, efficient, and allows you to reach most parts of the island easily. Alternatively, there are also plenty of tours available.With prices steadily increasing across the board, we may look at booking the hotel and flights separately next time. As we try to enjoy two holidays a year, our budget is becoming increasingly stretched, to the point where we may sadly have to consider looking elsewhere in the future.   Mixed Experience – Great Entertainment but Rooms Need Serious Attention

  We recently returned from a family holiday and a wider group of 10 people, made up of adults and children at Sandos Papagayo in Lanzarote. While the entertainment team kept our friends kids smiling, the standard of the accommodation and dining fell well short of what we expected, particularly for the room categories we booked.Here is an honest breakdown of the highs and lows of our stay:🔴 The Lows (Areas for Improvement)Disappointing "Royal Elite" Suite (Room 542, D Block): We paid for a Royal Elite suite, but the room felt incredibly tired, dated, and aged. To make matters worse, the air conditioning was very poor, making it uncomfortable to sleep.Substandard Second Room (Room 245, D Block): Our daughter’s room was in a terrible state. It had visible mould in the corners, cracked tiles in the bathroom, and the same poor air conditioning. Additionally, the wooden flooring had wide gaps in all the joints, which was a massive dirt trap and felt very unhygienic.Limited Dinner Options: We found the evening buffet to have a very minimal choice for dinner. It lacked variety and got repetitive very quickly. Whilst the snack bar is a good option, its worth using the microwave to make sure it is heated and cooked through.Inconsistent Customer Service: While some staff members were lovely, a noticeable number of the team seemed very unhappy. They would actively avoid eye contact or any form of greeting/saying "hello" when you walked past.🟢 The Highs (The Good Points)Fantastic Kids' Entertainment: The mini disco was absolutely brilliant! Our children loved it, and it was a real highlight of the trip.Varied Evening Shows: The overall evening entertainment was varied, engaging, and genuinely good fun for the whole family.Select Standout Staff: Though service was hit-and-miss overall, we did encounter some fantastic, hardworking staff members who were a credit to the hotel.Verdict: The entertainment team works incredibly hard, but Sandos Papagayo urgently needs to invest in renovating. If you are paying a premium for a Royal Elite suite, you expect a high standard of cleanliness and modern comfort, which sadly wasn't delivered here.
