Location

This apartment complex is located directly by the beautiful beach of Los Charcos. Thanks to its excellent location, this hotel is a firm favourite among return guests. It is a few minutes' walk to the centre of Marinero with its many sights, such as the Cesar Manrique Museum, a cactus garden and the Montaña del Fuego, in addition to the small town of Arrecife. Links to the public transport network are to be found around 100 m from the complex.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 368 apartments located in two 2-storey buildings with lifts. Guests are warmly welcomed by multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the 24-hour reception desk in the lobby. Check-in/check-out service is available round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The apartment hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park. Rooms

Most units include a balcony with sea views, where guests can relax and linger a while. Rooms have a double bed or a queen-size bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a minibar are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a stovetop, a microwave, a tea/coffee station and a dishwasher. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a whirlpool bath. A hairdryer and a telephone are available for daily use. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The hotel has family rooms and 368 non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Guests can strike that perfect balance between exercise and relaxation in one of the 13 freshwater pools, which are outdoors and in part heated. There is a special swimming area for little ones as well. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. A wide range of sports and activities are offered at the apartment hotel, such as fishing. For a fee, guests can also enjoy cycling/mountain biking, tennis and golf. A number of sports are available, including water sports such as kitesurfing, canoeing, sailing, kayaking, snorkelling, water aerobics and aquafit. For a fee, guests can also enjoy catamaraning and diving. A wide range of indoor sporting activities are also offered, for example table tennis, darts, yoga and aerobics or, for a fee, a gym and billiards. Various wellness options are available at the hotel, including a spa, a steam bath, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Additional leisure activities include an entertainment programme, a kids' club and a dance club.

Meals

Dining facilities include a café and a bar. A cosy atmosphere and delicious food await guests in 2 non-smoking restaurants (high chairs are available). Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Dinner options include a buffet and à la carte. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options. The show cooking is a particularly special attraction. The apartment hotel offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Customer service and the best training camp infrastructure

    We have hosted 7 Training Camps over the last 5 years at Sands Beach. We have seen the 'just out of Covid' back to some kind of normality!!!The staff in the hotel are out of this world and make my job so much easier taking some of the stress away from me. This is from the cleaners, to the restaurant staff, reception and most of all our Groups Manager Ryan Jenkins who is a legend from booking to getting us on our way off the Island with the transfers.Looking forward to the improvements but Sands is like a second home to some of us.     Ideal place for a triathlon training camp.

    I host my annual training camp at Sands Beach every year. It provides everything I need. A proper lane pool where I can reserve lanes. Spacious rooms right by the pool for athletes to relax in. Good quality buffet breakfast and dinner every day to keep everyone going. The hotel is well placed for cycling and running with low traffic routes out of town to the rest of the island and easy access to the sea front.Rooms are serviced daily keeping them clean and tidy. You don't have to think about anything other than training. It's a quiet and relaxed environment I love to return to every year.Organising a camp is incredibly easy thanks to Ryan Jenkins the groups manager at the hotel. He's always helpful and quick to respond. He takes all the work out of organising rooms for the athletes who join me.     Fantastic Training Camp for triathletes

    We had a planned training camp for 18 triathletes 14-21 March. This was the 6th year we have used Sands Beach Resort as our destination and have always been very pappy with the facilities, service and experience. All of our accommodation, board and transfers are booked through Ryan who has always provided an excellent and professional service. On occasion we have had guests who required help and assistance to leave earlier than planed and nothing has ever been a problem. The sporting facilities are booked through Delioma and she will always check in with us during our stay to make sure everything is running smoothly.     Excellent Base for Triathlon Training Camps – Great Staff and Service

    We stayed at Sands Beach Active as a large triathlon training group and had a very positive experience overall. The resort is well suited for sports camps, with a great location and excellent bike rental service at fair prices.The staff were very professional and helpful throughout our stay, with special thanks to Delioma and Ryan for their outstanding support.Minor issues such as pool heating and small room details were outweighed by the overall service and atmosphere. We would gladly return for another training camp.
