  Perfect for a long weekend away

  Perfect for our 3 night stay. The hotel is clean, the room spacious and comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful and all reasonably priced. The reasons I didn’t give 5* review are; small cups and plates in the restaurant; small cups and no glasses in the room;bathroom lighting far too dim to use the mirrors properly; (although this seems the norm in hotels worldwide)Other than these little niggles, we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a short walk from a massive car park and the train station and it’s situated on the edge of the drinking and eating out sector!

  We are regular visitors, to Oostend and this is always aour favourite place to stay,. It's secure and welcoming. The staff are always hepful and friendly the rooms are comfortable and clean. The included breakfasts are exellent quality. Just a great place to stay.

  The hotel has a good location and you are immediately in the city center and just as quickly at the sea. I'm only giving it 3 stars because there were a few flaws that shouldn't happen in a 4 star hotel. Some of the rooms are very old. Various things in the room didn't work or were dirty, only after complaining did I get another room that was spotless. The wellness facilities were not fully usable. What was usable, however, corresponded to my ideas. The breakfast was extensive but with limitations. There was only one coffee machine in operation and there was only standard. The vending machines weren't stocked with what was written on them. There were different types of bread but no rolls. The staff at the breakfast buffet was more of a statistic than a real service was not offered. Neither a "good morning" nor any help was brought to you. Today it must be different!

  Noisy disappointment

  We stayed at Hotel Bero with our 2 little kids. As we read quite a few negative reviews on outside noises, we asked beforehand if they could guarantee a quite room. An employee called Sébastien confirmed vie e-mail to give us a room without air condition or other noise outside. Upon arrival they gave us a room next to a construction site with nonstop noise from 7am to 5pm. When we complained, they kept putting us off till later (“construction will stop tomorrow”, “I will talk to the management by tomorrow”), but nothing ever changed. They only offered another room with air condition noise outside. After the 2nd night we couldn’t handle the noise anymore and decided to go home early. When asking for a compensation due to Sébastien’s wrong written confirmation and unmet agreement, they stopped being friendly: “What did you expect when booking a hotel in the city centre?”, “This would not have happened, if you had taken the room next to the air condition”. They said they could not to more for us, but refused to give us the management’s phone number – because of data protection, while on the same hand, they had an applicant’s CV lying on the reception counter for everyone to see. Adressed to that, the receptionist yelled at us if we wanted to threaten her – she could not see how she was applying double standards. They did not give us a compensation (“because until now you used all the services, like breakfast”) – except for offering a voucher for our next stay, ironically: We left early because of the poor circumstances, why would we seriously go back to a place with noise and lying employees? I would not recommend it to anyone. We wasted a lot of money on a noisy non-relaxing holiday.

  Management told us the room was closed for refurbished but still rented it out to us. They told us they proposed to give us another room but thats a big lie, we did not want to stay in a health hazard room voluntarily but that is what they told us. Proof that they knew the room was not fit , letter from hotel here.mold in shower, mold on the ceiling. Horrible experience!!
