    Possibly the best option that Ponferrada has to offer!

    We were hiking the Camino de Santiago and wanted somewhere nice to stay in Ponferrada for 1 night so we opted for the AC Hotel. The staff at the hotel were very good and in fact they upgraded us on arrival (thank you!). The hotel itself is quite dated but it was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was good. My only gripe with Marriott hotels is that communicating with them is a nightmare, as the individual hotel websites never show the hotel's contact details - they usually only have a USA call centre number - and the last time I called a USA telephone number from the UK, it cost nearly £10 for a 2 minute call.

    The staff was very nice and attentive. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and had lunch at a bar nearby that was recommended by the staff. The rest of the time we spent touring the area.The hotel has two parking spaces to drop off luggage. It's not in front, it's the first 2 spaces on the side of the street right after the hotel entrance. The parking is a bit uncomfortable because it's across the street. Once you drop off your luggage, you have to drive down the street and make a u-turn. The space is a bit tight and it fills up quickly. The only other option is to park on the street, which is very difficult because it's always full. Besides the parking, everything was great, so we will definitely return.

    The hotel overall is okay. The front desk is excellent. The front desk helped us with our bikes to lock them up in storage and found an extension cord for me.On the bad side, the air conditioner is not cold enough, the WiFi is poor and the TV is Spanish only. Connecting my computer to my phone gives better internet access.

    We did a one night stopover for 7000 points - a great value. We stayed in an attractive suite just on the outskirts of town - maybe 10 minutes to Old Town. Comfortable and modern, it works well for Camino hikers. Breakfast was above average, parking across the street was $13 - really good option in Ponferrada.

    Very inexpensive, bedroom is not huge but staff very welcoming. Paid hotel car park is across the street. Breakfast just adequate. About 10 mins (flat) walk into town. Modern hotel and great value, even for Camino pilgrims.
