Location

This hotel is located in the commercial and business centre of the city, just 20 m away from Avenida de España and about 200 m from the Railway Museum and 300 m from the train station. In the same district as the hotel guests will find the main shopping area, and 1 km away there is the Old Town with places of interest such as the 12th century Templar Castle, The Radio Museum, the Bierzo Museum and the Encina Basilica. The Morredero ski resort is about 3.5 km and it is approximately 22 km to Las Médulas.

Guests have a choice of 39 rooms, including junior suites, 7 single rooms and 30 double rooms, located in a 5-storey main building and an auxiliary building. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk are on hand round the clock to assist guests with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe.     Decent clean hotel

    Room though small was very clean and didn’t look too scruffy. Had the usual amenities. Generally acceptable. But the location is not ideal if you are walking the camino. Better to stay somewhere nearer the Templar’s castle. On the corner of the street where this hotel is there is a little grocery shop selling dried meats etc. Female shopkeeper was reluctant to serve my husband and ranted at me for taking a photo of the dried meats presumably because she was coincidentally in the picture. Perhaps because we are Chinese. Bear that in mind if you think of patronising.

    We got a smaller room this stay then our previous stay which was not a good start.Having said that the room was clean and we had a good sleep in the bed.Next morning we had a lovely breakfast and were on our way to the next town.

    my room was clean and comfortable. Modern. I only gave it three stars because there's no window looking out onto the street And I couldn't get the Wi-Fi in my room. There is a ceiling window that will add some ventilation and some light. It's a little tricky to figure out the control. I don't think my TV turns on but I didn't try very hard. In all fairness I didn't let Anyone from the Hotel know about Wi-Fi or the TV because I could use data. Back to breakfast buffet which was quite nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is great in the middle of the old town close to the castle and restaurants.

    I have stayed At the Aroi Ponferrada hotel a couple of days ago, just for one night, on my way to Santiago de Compostela! The hotel is very nice, and has a great location! The rooms are small but have all one might need! Breakfast is algo good, with bread, scrambled eggs, jam, cheese, fruit. I want to thank Silvia, from the reception, who was really helpful when she found out my friend and I couldn’t find a hotel for staying the next night in Villafranca as all the hotels were booked because of a big event in town! She called a couple of hotels and was able to get us what I think was the last free room in town!I would definitely stay there again if I ever go back to Ponferrada!

    Room full of Hair!!!

    Checked in today after waiting for one hour to get my room. Was told that my room was not ready yet and was being clean. OK fine. I would expect to get a clean room not a room full of human hair and having to wipe the whole bedroom and bathroom floor. Would not advice this hotel!!!!!
