Very clean and well maintained hotel

    rating04 Apr 2026

This was such a fabulous hotel in that they allow pets and yet, everything was kept so nice and clean. Often pet friendly hotels are not up to par, but we had a perfect stay. Comfy beds, great showers, wonderful free breakfast and super friendly staff. We visit Marshall a few times per year to see family and this will be our pick from hence forth!

    Not happy with this place

    rating11 Jan 2026

My wife and I are retired/semi-retired and travel extensively for pleasure. When we book a hotel, we try our best to pick a place to stay based on reviews, not price. Seldom do the reviews match the hotel experience. I never write reviews on hotels; however, as part of my personal New Year's resolution, this one will be my first. I'm tired of paying top dollar for a room and getting less than a Motel 6 accommodation experience. My wife and I spent two nights in the Hampton Inn in Marshall. I think it is the most expensive motel in Marshall. Overall, it was a disappointing stay. My number one complaint was the beds (we had a room with two beds). Very uncomfortable. My bed was lumpy, the springs squeaked, and the sheets, pillows, and bedding were all cheap, worn out, and uncomfortable. The toilet seat wouldn't stay up when I went to the bathroom. The sink backed up and didn't work when I was shaving. The hot water faucet didn't work very well, and the room had a slight urine odor. This hotel accepts dogs & cats. I didn't see any cats, but there were several dogs on the second floor. I'm not aware of designated rooms for dogs, but I don't think there are. Our two-night stay cost $365.00. I would never stay here again.

    Comfortable Stay in Marshall!

Wonderful stay! Well maintained property and extremely nice staff. The breakfast was hot with a variety of choices. The rooms are comfortable, well lit and up to date. We will stay again!

    Extremely disappointed

    rating02 Feb 2025

Called to check rates and availability, was transferred to a different reservation line that didn’t know the special discount rate, had to wait so they could call the hotel. They gave me the rate, I then called a couple other hotels for comparison, then when I called back to book, again had to wait for the hotel to answer the phone. I gave up, looked up the local number and called the hotel directly this time only to speak to a very rude woman on the phone saying there’s no such rate and hung up on me. I have never been treated like this before, and with me being a Hilton honors member as much as I only travel with Hilton branded hotels, that’s saying a lot about this hotel. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

    Adequate, but Not Great

    rating16 Oct 2024

I often travel for business and I like to stay at hotels in the Hilton chain. In my judgement, this site is at the lower end of Hilton's standards for their Hampton Inn brand. It's not what I would consider to be a "bad" place, but each time I've stayed there (usually a week or two at a time), I've always had some minor annoyance. In a previous stay, Room Service took the bar of complementary hand soap and didn't replace it. (One bar of soap can last me at least a couple of weeks.) So I used shampoo from the shower to wash my hands. This latest stay, the TV abruptly quit working so they had me change rooms. Then I found there was no shampoo in the shower of the new room, so I had to use body gel to wash my hair.I travel for business, so I always need a receipt. I'm used to having the hotel just email a copy rather than print one. They did say they would email the receipt, but never did. Fortunately, as a Diamond member I can go to my online account and download an electronic copy from there. For business travelers who don't have an online account with Hilton, not receiving a receipt would be a major inconvenience. For business requirements, I need to be at the local office by 5:00 AM each morning so I have to leave before breakfast is served (usually leaving around 4:30 AM). At this location, there's no coffee available at that time of the morning. This isn't a complaint. I fully appreciate not making coffee when there's no demand for it. I'm just pointing out that some Hampton Inn's have coffee available overnight, and some don't. This location doesn't.Finally, the most annoying thing about this location (for me) is that all the rooms I've stayed in have toilets designed such that the seat can be raised, but it won't stay up on it's own. This means male guests must hold the seat up with one hand or not raise the seat at all. (I prefer to have the seat raised.) Perhaps I'm being picky, but I just don't understand the logic of such a toilet design. As I said, this isn't a "bad" location but when you stay here, be prepared to accept one or more minor inconveniences.
