This hotel is located in the illustrious town of Villafranca del Bierzo, capital of a very beautiful region and former station on the road to Santiago. It is located at the entrance to the town, in the upper part, some 350 m from the main N-VI road. It is 400 m from the centre of Villafranca del Bierzo and 2 km from Ponferrada with its bus and train stations.

    I loved everything about this place. Beautiful, clean rooms. Breakfast was more than adequate with a huge variety of choises. Each guest had their own bamboo tongs to use at the buffet which is much more sanitary than having each person handling the same serving spoon. Luxurious facility! Staff were very professional and helpful. I wouldn't have minded staying here all 11 nights when our Fresco Tours group was walking the Camino.

    Handy location close to the old town but not in it and only a short drive to Ponferrada to see the fabulous Templar castle. Villafranca del bierza is lovely with the requisite castle and churches on the pilgrim route. The hotel was very comfortable and spacious although very modern in style. Very large comfortable bed. Good shower over the bath. Food in the restaurant was good as was breakfast, shame the dining room felt quite institutional and bright. Friendly helpful staff made you feel welcome, we had a good stay here. Sheltered parking and a gated entrance.

    This parador isn’t in a historical building, but in a rather recent building. Thus bringing you to comforts and amenities that go with modern hotels. Not exaggerated luxury, but a nice and comfortable 4 star hotel. It is located on the edge of the beautiful and original village of Villafranca del Bierzo. The easy walk into the Plaza Mayor takes about 10 minutes. Good connection to the highway. The room we had was spacious and comfortable. The beds were good with outstanding high quality bed linen. The outstanding climate in Bierzo, comfortable warm days and cool nights, make an excellent sleep. Staff is welcoming and guest oriented. Price : quality is excellent. Highly recommended.     Modern Parador on edge of town.

    Modern hotel on edge of town, free parking. Reception lacked welcome and did not explain any of hotel facilities - we didnt find the pool! Spacious room, comfy bed, air con seemed to be more like air circulation? View was slightly disappointing as we could see the motorway. Also bright fire exit light inside room not ideal at night.
