  Disappointed but could easily be better.

  Woeful is the best description I can give Arva, Leon Spain. The hotel is a 10 minute drive from the city centre and located next to a hospital on the same grounds. On 1st impressions, it resembles a train station with limited parking available. Upon arrival mid-afternoon, the rooms hadn't been allocated causing a minor delay as someone forgot. The design of the hotel is very long with reception at one end and the furtherest room 250 mts away. If you get room 235, be prepared for a long long walk.The rooms are large and very clean and the beds are firm. The air con funtions producing adequate results with a minor hum in the background. The bathroom is more than adequate with soaps mounted on the walls. The water pressure is excellent. There are no other amenities such as tooth brush or shower cap. You can hear people out in the hallway, so a bit noisy. The room lighting is very poor at night almost requiring a torch to see your way around. The TV only has Spanish shows which seems to be standard in Spain. You would be lucky to get French, German or English channels.The evening meal was disastrous, tasteless and generally unhealthy. I am not sure if this was a one off or standard fare, but we had to exit the hotel to a large cafeteria in the next building for the evening meal. There doesn't appear to be other eating facilities near by as an alternative. The breakfast was very very basic. The team at reception were helpful as several cards for the rooms failed and had to be reprogrammed.Overall, it's Ok but an effort with very basic amenities and services.

  Came through for us in an uncomfortable situation

  This is a review of one staff member, in particular. Amanda in reception was so helpful when the electricity in our room unexpectedly went out at around 22:00. She did what she could to fix the electrical issue, but when that failed, Amanda quickly moved us into another room. She even comped us breakfast the next morning for our inconvenience! This was clearly the best service I’ve had since arriving in Spain!

  Mid standard hotel that's hard to access.

  This was the only 3* as opposed to 4* hotel we stayed in on our tour round N Spain/Portugal, and the difference was obvious. That said, The Paris is a perfectly good hotel and VERY good choice for those wishing to explore old Leon.Rooms are reasonably comfortable but a bit lacking. Only two sockets for charging, and a bit cramped. Bed OK, but nothing special. Breakfast was a bit basic, but decent enough value at 10€.The other thing to mention is that if arriving by car, it's EXTREMELY hard to find and a faff getting into it, caused, it has to be said by the noisy, dusty roadworks in the Calle Ancha. We only stayed for 2 nights and never took the car out until we left, so it was OK, but otherwise it would have been a real pain.

  Stay away if you’re not a local

  There’s about 10% of the staff here who detest and essentially “spit upon” foreigners. There’s at least 6 employees who go out of their way to help make the stay enjoyable. The man who works nights at the front desk is generally mean and not personable. I asked for a thermometer because two of the young school girls traveling with our family have fevers: headache and vomiting. He would not allow me to bring the thermometer up to the room to quickly check the girl’s temperatures. I offered to leave him my cell phone, so he knew I’d be right back, but he refused and said there’s a 24 hour pharmacy which I know to be in a questionably safe part of town. The atmosphere her is charming and rooms are comfortable, but if customers are uncomfortable with staff… the business can expect not to have customers for long. Ana, maitre d at restaurant possesses a strong ability to belittle customers as well. Such a shame that a hotel with such potential turns off guests SO seriously.

  Wonderful, small, cosy, modern place

  Wonderful, comfortable place to stay. I stayed for one night in a small cosy hotel room which was decorated in a modern way and was a equipped with TV, AC and fridge. Bathroom was also modern. There would need to be some renovation but still fine.Breakfast buffet was also nice. Continental breakfast with lots of choices and fresh coffee.Would definitely stay here again!
