    This is the second Silken hotel I have stayed in. I think the Silken group have taken this hotel over from another chain. The rooms were dated and could do with a freshen up. The flooring in my room was damaged. However, the staff were super helpful, the bed was really comfortable. I slept well for the 3 nights I was there. There is a bar but is only open Monday to Thursday, it could do with one open the weekend too. It is ideally located.     More 3 star than 4. Very basic rooms in the “standard” room type. You can definitely find a better 4 star in León. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but checked out after one. The location is not central so not great for sightseeing. A real disappointment.

    Our room was accessed by a swipe key card whist we were at dinner and my wife's handbag was stolen.€500 Euros and lost credit cards goes a long way to spoiling a vacation.Hotel staff didn't care and were not only very unhelpful but deliberately unhelpful.If you have a choice either stay some place else or lock up all your suff as the staff are not trustworthy. MARISOL MATEOS, General Manager at Silken Luis de Leon, responded to this review Mr. Andrew.We reiterate in this new comment that leaves us with the following:The Hotel's opening system allows a reading of all the times the door is opened. Our staff was able to verify and we can prove that no one entered your room except you.Both our staff and the Hotel Management attended to you personally and offered to call the police, which you rejected, indicating that they were not going to do anything for you.Obviously and after confirming that no one entered your room, we are not going to speculate on what may have happened, but rather we will let you think about it.As you can understand, if we dedicated ourselves to this with our clients, we could not have dedicated ourselves to this profession that we love a long time ago.As we already indicated in our response in another of your comments, we hope that your money appears although we are sure that you will never call us or notify us of this.We wish you a good trip and patience to whoever has to deal with you.Sincerely.Silken Luis de León's team

    Did not feel like a four star hotel...

    The Silken Luis de Leon is rated a four star hotel, but it certainly didn't feel like one. I travel a lot and always try to stay in four star hotels in Europe. The hotel restaurant is only open four days a week for two hours per day. The rooms do not have complimentary water bottles nor do they have coffee machines. There is complimentary coffee in the lobby, but only after 11:30 a.m.. There is no conditioner nor body lotion, and no feather pillows, ie. the hotel lacks all the amenities that I would expect in a four star hotel. I will say that my room was clean and comfortable, but then that is what I would have expected in a three star hotel also. I guess my peeve is that the hotel provides none of the amenities that I would have expected in a four star hotel...

    Stopped for one night. Check in was fairly quick and staff were pleasant and welcoming.Rooms was a comfortable size, with good air conditioning. There are a couple of restaurants nearby and it is about a ten minute walk to the cathedral area.Breakfast had a reasonable choice with plenty of fruit.
