Excellent location, very good and friendly staff. Very nice room, bedding and sleep. As others said maybe ready for a bit of refurbishment but we would happily stay here again.

Perfectly located in the city central area of Lugos Spain

Was part of a Camino Frances Tour Group.This hotel was located within the Roman Wall in the heart of the historical district.It was on a pedestrian plaza street. Our group van was not able to drop of us off in front of the hotel, we did have to walk some blocks, but if your luggage rolls well you will be fine. Since the location is so great, it was easy to walk around, go from the hotel, to the major plazas, to the walls, cathedral, everywhere. You could avoid the heat, go back to your room, siesta like everyone else was doing, and then go back out in the evening when everyone comes back out. One issue was if you have large luggage, you are going to have heave your luggage up above the steps to get it in. The staff was pleasant and help. They spoke enough English to be understood.They had umbrellas at the entrance should it rain, which it did the afternoon I was here. But you can kind of stay out of most of the rain if you stay under the alcoves along the pedestrian streets. But some of the streets there are no alcoves.

The location was terrible. We had to drive through the side walk just to reach this hotel. The atmosphere was not hygienic, werid staff, crusty elevator, and no bell desk to pick up our bags. Don’t get me started on the rooms. We walked in to see a hole in the wall with cracks and paint toren off the wall. The room was very dirty with cheap items such as old phones and shower heads. The hotel offered a rooftop which was okay but honestly could have been better. The value was cheap for a ret In conclusion, do not stay here.

This is rated as a 4 star hotel. 2 main points at issue.1) There is one entry point in to the hotel with a series of steps to reception. There is no ramp and certainly there was no one to assist me with my suitcase. There is a disability mover at the entrance but in 2024 but no one was there and the vast majority of people can manage suitcases/ prams, wheelchairs, using a well designed ramp. I would have thought would be a very basic feature. 2) No communication to hotel guests regarding accessing level 6 when it’s closed due to a function. I stepped out of the lift expecting to eat lunch, only to be told by someone not in the hotel uniform that it was closed to me.Full stop. I found it rude that as a hotel guest I was not spoken to by a member of staff. Why was this responsibility handed over or taken over by a member of the public? All this could have easily been avoided if fontina had the foresight to post notices in each floor. I had no idea if the restaurant was going to be open for dinner. I was just told there was a wedding and to go. Smaller issues: The person who checked me in gave me no information on WiFi, and I had to ask for a map. Zero interest as to whether I wanted any tourist information. no soap- only a dispenser and not any particular brand. This is not 4 stars, sorry guys.TV selection. Great if you speak Spanish but not one English Channel; not even the news.

The Perfect Location in Lugo

The hotel is literally a short stroll from the bus station so very handy. We had a beautiful room at the front with a balcony which was fabulous to use. The street below is a normal shopping street which had buskers everyday which was nice to hear in Spanish from above. The view of a church nearly opposite was nice also. The outside area upstairs in the bar / restaurant was extremely nice and had a god set price dinner available every night. The breakfast was good too. The location is literally just around the corner from the main square and Cathedral. Lots of bars and restaurants close by. the square was lively every evening with things for kids too. Do not forget to visit the Roman House which is in the lane behind the hotel and very easy to miss. Staff were very helpful with all our queries although conversation was fun as they had limited English and I had no Spanish . . . . . this was not a bad thing as we wanted to visit Lugo which is a real Spanish City and not big tourist location. Thankfully we had Google Translator. I cannot recommend this hotel or the staff high enough, if you go to Lugo, stay here .
