  Best Budget Accomodations in Madrid

  Best choice at economy end of sectrum. VERY CLEAN, very basic, shared showers not a problem, lots of hot water. PRIVACY! Staff very friendly: Diana and Nelson especially. Great location near Plaza Mayor, walking distance to many flamenco spots and historic tabernas. Easy access without getting tangled up in traffic or long walk to hotel as in other areas. Hotel Casa de la Plaza in same building, offers similar accomodations.

  Good location but the accomodation is nothing spectacular

  The location of this accommodation cannot be faulted, it is right next door to Plaza Mayor and directly across from the Mercado de San Miguel. However the room was quite small, very hot and had an unpleasant smell to it. The shared bathrooms were quite old and felt dirty by the end of the day. Towels were not included which was not mentioned on Booking.com when I booked the accommodation - they were available for one euro but it seems ridiculous to charge for towels when they are such a necessity. There is no daily turn down service either. Although budget friendly and centrally located, I probably wouldn't stay again due to the issues mentioned.

  The hostal is located within the centre, 2 minuten from playa mayor (central square in Madrid). Rooms are fine and showers and toilets are clean. They don't have airconditioning, so it can be hot during Madrid's summer, but since they sun doesn't shine directly on the hostal it is manageable.

  Good location, bad sleep

  I stayed at Abaaly for five nights with my boyfriend. Bathrooms are shared with the other rooms, but were always clean and available. Staff are friendly and the price was affordable - 45euro for a double bedroom and you have a location in the heart of Madrid. Unfortunately the walls are paperthin, so for a good nights sleep, bring ear plugs!

  Stayed at Hostal Abaaly for one night in a single room with shared bathroom, I just wanted somewhere to sleep for one night that was cheap and cheerful and this place didn't disappoint. Room didn't have a window which I knew about when I booked it and didn't bother me, there was 3 shared bathrooms/toilets and all of these were always clean. Location was great, literally a 2 minutes walk away from Plaza Mayor and just over 5 minutes walk from Puerta del Sol and Sol station so easy to get too from main train/bus stations and airport. Royal Palace of Madrid and main street Gran Via plus other attractions were all within 10-15 minutes walking distance. Plenty of places to eat and drink all very closeby. Overall, I'd recommend Hostal Abaaly and would stay again if I was to return to Madrid.
