Too much noise, not enough sleep

    rating14 Oct 2025

I booked a room for one night. Arrived at hotel at 1130pm. Was kept awake by the 2 young people working the reception desk until 0200 talking and laughing. Was woke up at 0600 by numerous voices talking and chatting and laughing. Apparently, there was a training session occurring for employees. Very little sleep was followed by an overpriced breakfast buffet offering very little food. All in all, I needed sleep before on a long layover before flying out on a 10 hour flight. The noise by the employees made it impossible. Doubt I would use this service again.

Beware Norwegian air line bookings via a deal with United Airlines

    rating03 Jul 2025

This trip is not completed yet . We depart Aug 2025. However, our experience with our airline booking warrants a warning to other travelers. The Semi-Annual Cruise Sale departs soon!United Cruises In April of 2024 I was lured by an email from United Airlines that offered cruise packages with a buy-one-get-one free airfare. I called a friend, we liked the itinerary, and we booked a cruise for two on Norwegian for Iceland, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Shetland Islands, and Norway. We use an excellent AAA travel agent having learned from past experience that travel agents can navigate issues that arise better than the traveler. We placed a deposit of $200 and researched the various stops and excursion opportunities. The problems arose when Norwegian booked my travel companion’s airlines. We booked more than a year in advance and despite efforts to get my companions flight changed prior to the pre-cruise 100 day deadline (another fine print clause), Norwegian refused to accommodate the reasonable and timely request. In the fine print it is noted that Norwegian can book as long as a 6 hour layover for any air travel. My companion’s flights’ schedule leaves Philadelphia at 10:40am, arrives Toronto at 12:15pm. After a layover of 4hours and 45 minutes, my companion leaves Toronto at 5pm arrives Montreal at 6:21pm. After a layover of 5 hours, my companion leaves Montreal at 11:20PM and arrives Reykjavik at 8:20am. Repeated efforts to get my companion’s flights changed via our travel agent, and my companion, are repeatedly denied by Norwegian’s air booking department. Note: there are direct flights from Toronto to Reykjavik, I am booked on one. In addition, a third travel companion, who booked the same cruise at a later date than us, is booked from Philadelphia to Toronto to Reykjavik. At one point I sought assistance from United Airlines but was told they cannot intervene. Do not book your airfare via Norwegian if you can avoid it. They buy blocks of seats and the schedules can be horrendous, like my companion’s. In addition, seat selection for the airlines must be main cabin; no upgrades are permitted even if paid for. Norwegian’s unwillingness to respond to a reasonable and timely request for flight change demonstrates indifference to customers and does not encourage repeat business. I suggest you avoid their cruises.

Very functional but repeated disturbance from train noise

    rating09 Jun 2025

The hotel is deep underneath the terminal 4 entrance on the same level as the metro ticket machines and barriers. It appears to be just above the mainline train station, because we could repeatedly hear trains passing underneath throughout the night. This makes it not the right location within the airport for a hotel. It ought to be on a high floor, not buried close to the metro and mainline train station. The breakfast was disappointing, despite the modest charge of €8.50 per person. Nevertheless it's very useful to have this hotel available without leaving the airport, for example before an early morning flight, particularly if an airline is funding the cost under EU261. The rooms are functionally well designed with plenty of power sockets in the right places, although I would prefer the air conditioning to have a numeric temperature setting.

    Air Rooms Madrid

    rating14 May 2025

Perfect for what I needed. My flight arrived to Madrid at 6am and I needed to wait for a friend arriving around 12:30 prior to leaving by bus to Salamanca. This was a great place to rest my head, get a few hours of sleep and a shower before continuing on my journey. The location is tricky to find - from the arrivals area of Terminal 4 (once you've fully exited the secure area) look for signs to the Metro and Renfe trains. Take the escalator/moving ramp down to that level and behind the escalator/moving ramp is the entrance to this hotel.Check in and out was quick and easy. The room was very clean. If I needed to, I'd certainly stay here again.

2-star quality for 5-star price, but the location is unbeatable for an overnight stay between connecting flights.

    rating08 May 2025

The evident advantage of this hotel is that it is located directly in the terminal 4 building, We landed in T4 in the late afternoon, very tired, and our next flight was scheduled to depart from T4 early in the morning, so hotel’s location was ideal for us. The room was tiny, the air conditioner flow was barely noticeable (at the reception they told me something like “well, we don’t have REAL air conditioning”). Also the rooms are on the subway level, so everything in our room was literally shaking when a subway train passed by. Regardless of its shortcomings, the hotel worked well for us, but to someone having more time between the flights I would suggest to stay elsewhere.
