    Terrible place, stay away

    rating08 Jan 2022

I was looking for a centrally located place to stay during Christmas with my family. After 12 hours traveling from Mexico I was shocked of the poor quality of the place.Heater was at maximum without possibly to adjust the room temperature. I was obligated to open the windows, the bed was making noise and have a very bad sleep during 5 days. The washing machine did not work, the room looks like 50 years ago, you hear noise from next room bathroom as it was yours. Very annoying hearing people using WC. Last but not least shower had very little water and it makes a challenge to enjoy a shower due to the lower water power. I had to pay 105 euros per night. Totally out of the market. Please don’t stay here, you will regret and will make your stay in Madrid miserable.

Normally I research, a lot beofre booking any accomodation. But back in Feb 2012, I was about to embark on my first international trip outside India. I can't remember now, who adviced me this apartment, but since I didnt want to take any chances, I booked this place. It was a bit underwhelming as I can recall now. The tv was small and only local channels. But I was ok with everything else. One night I was totally wasted after a party and slept in the corridor, unable to open the lock of my room. The manager took me inside my room, sometime during the night, which I have no memory now, so I have to be grateful about. It's been a long time. I enjoyed everything about Madrid, and still fondly remember my trip.

Stayed here for two nights as it was close to the venue we was visiting.Room could do with decorating so it felt a bit more welcoming rather then walking into a prison cell type of atmosphere. Also as an apartment you would expect to find tea coffee making facilities but alas not even a kettle. For location it was perfect but lacked a nice welcoming feel.

Excellent location, dated decoration, poor service

    rating24 Mar 2019

The apartment is in an excellent, central location for Salamanca/Plaza Colon area. Has shops, restaurants, etc all at walking distance.Access to the reception is via steps, with no help to carry heavy luggage. There is a disabled chair lift available. The receptionists are actually the concierge for the building residents, doing a 'favour' to the rentals, therefore, the service is VERY limited, basically to take payment and hand keys.On arrival you have to pay the whole stay PLUS wifi access. Wifi is good.I was in a flat looking outside on 7th floor. Views are nice. The decoration of the place is old fashioned but the worse bit is that is not really comfortable. The tv cannot be tuned so there are 3-4 sad channels to watch. The kitchenette is not well stocked, so no proper pan to boil water for a tea or coffee, no coffee maker, etc. They provide a tea towel, detergent and a sponge. There is a microwave and fridge, too.The bedroom wardrobes are gigantic. The bathroom shower was terrible. They provide a hand an a body towel, on the smaller size. Beds were very uncomfortable.Windows are sliding ones, double, so quite dangerous for kids if left unattended. Size of the rooms is good.We visited in March with unusual hot weather, which meant that the rooms were super hot. So if you visit in Spring/summer, check that there's a fan available or you'd boil. There is a coffee/restaurant shop next door, Avantys, which was a life saviour. The receptionists kindly allowed me to leave my bags in storage for a few hours after check out (check in 3pm, check out 12 noon). But they would not allow me to use internet for 5 minutes to book an über after I checked out unless I paid, so had to leave bags, walk around the corner, get a coffee in a shop and wifi access. That was a very bad customer service move.It is a shame they don't care for customers better, would be a perfect spot otherwise.

    Expensive but Not Good!

    rating05 Apr 2017

My colleague booked two serviced apartments here due to the nice pictures she saw on their website. DO NOT TRUST THOSE PICTURES, the actual rooms are REALLY OLD.The kitchen was tiny and almost bare, I think we had one or two spoons, and a few dirty old cups. The toilet was dark (even with the light on) with poor ventilation, and the shower water pressure was low.The beds were so-so, and the heater hardly worked, which means it probably hasn't been maintained in years. Our apartment window faced some kind giant ventilation shaft on the ground, and from it came smells of oil and cooking at various intervals. For an old place like this, the prices charged were ridiculous, and this was likely due to the demand for rooms during that month as there was an international conference (which was the aim of our business trip). While the elderly gentleman at the reception had a pleasant demeanor, he could not speak English, and there was literally no other staff around, so communication was difficult at times. The somewhat good thing about this place is that it is not too far from the Goya Metro station (about 10 minutes walk). If I return to Madrid, this place is definitely NOT ON MY LIST for accommodation.*NOTE: We stayed at this apartment in October 2015, not 2016, but due to date restrictions by TripAdvisor, I had to choose 2016.
