  On first appearance I was quite impressed. Then you sleep a night and reality kicks in. These were our pros and cons:Pros - great position on a pedestrianised shopping street.Lots of eateries and shops around and close to attractionsWe had a street room and felt it was pretty quiet.Reception staff friendlyCons - smoke alarm red light flashed on and off all night long and was really off putting.Struggled with pillows for a good nights sleep.Cleanliness was ‘OK’Bag of costume jewellery ‘disappeared’ whilst we were out of the room on the first day. I asked the Reception staff 2/3 times if it had been seen but they said not. It wasn’t ’insurance claim’ value but upsetting all the same to have it disappear…..   I never leave reviews but this hotel was too good not to! Location: It was a short walk from the Tribunal station and it was surrounded by many clothing stores. A decent amount of foot traffic in this area which was fun and refreshing. It’s within walking distance of the major site-seeing areas and many restaurants. There was a starbucks, Dunkin, and a few 24/7 corner stores around as well. Hotel premises: The lobby was small and beautiful. They sold some emergency items behind the desk (tampons, etc). The staff are very friendly!! There is no breakfast (which I’m okay with) but there were cookies, vending machine, and unlimited coffee and juice on the terrace. The terrace is beautiful with nice views. There is an indoor lounge with desks, seating and a TV. Room: The room was spacious and beautiful. The sink is separate from the toilet/shower which is nice if you’re with someone. The toilet/shower door is a little thin so if you’re shy, invite your roomie to have the cookies on the terrace if you need to handle business. This is hands down the quietest hotel I’ve ever been in. I wasn’t on the top floor but I heard no footsteps. I didn’t hear neighbors. The window is well insulated. You can hear everything if the window is open due to the foot traffic. I heard nothing while the window was closed. There is also AC. Everything in the room was clean. There are many reviews of other hotels discussing issues of theft, everything felt safe here. Solo travelers: I solo traveled a lot previously. This place felt safe, speaking from the perspective of a woman. I did have a partner this time but I wouldn’t hesitate to come here alone. The city stays up late so there are always many people around even at midnight (but keep in mind, I did go during spring break time).Overall: I travel a lot and have stayed in a wide range of hotels (expensive to budget) and this is the one I’ve most preferred as someone who highly values cleanliness, safety, and QUIET. 10/10!!   Excellent location, very quiet, and the 24 hour coffee bar was nice. Was able to provide our room early. Also had a nice rooftop patio

  Not bad, but the neighborhood is less than picturesque.

  The hotel is OK, but TripAdivsor will not let me fully describe the disgusting behaviors that occur in this neighborhood. I'd recommend staying elsewhere if you can afford better accommodations. The streets are especially dirty near this place.

  The hotel is located at the end of the shopping and pedestrian street Calle Fuencarral in the center of Madrid. It's easy to reach from the airport via the metro - Tribunal station is 10 minutes away. The hotel is centrally located - 10 minutes to Plaza de Chueca, 10 minutes to Gran Via and the large shopping street, 15 minutes to Plaza de Sol and 25 minutes to Palacio Real. There are numerous restaurants, cafés, shops and a large supermarket in the area.The inside of the hotel is modern, clean and well maintained. The rooms are very spacious and are equipped with a safe, refrigerator, WiFi, air conditioning and some have a desk. The French breakfast (croissants and water) is hung on the doorknob in a small paper bag. There is a small self-service café on the top floor. Tea, coffee, fruit and muffins are free. There is also a snack machine. The balcony of the lounge offers a beautiful view over Madrid.The staff is friendly, helpful and there around the clock. The towels - and there are plenty of them here - are changed daily. The bed is changed approximately every 2 to 3 days. Overall the cleaning staff does a great job.However, Madrid is a party city. At night the pedestrian zone in front of the hotel is very busy.
