I stayed here for 3 nights to visit my daughter who lives in Madrid. Hotel has a great location and very close to metro system. Very comfortable room. I didn't eat at the hotel and was room only. Would highly recommend.

Close to two lines of metro, approximately 1.3 km from Plaza Mayor and the city center, in a quiet neighboorhood.Comfortable hotel with large clean rooms. The bathroom has the "bidet".Breakfast nice but not excellent.Staff is quite kind.Price is acceptable but not cheap.

    Nice location, showing some wear.

The neighborhood surrounding the Hotel Trafalgar has not yet been overtaken by tourists. In other words, it maintains a great deal of traditional Madrid and is full of residents leading their every-day lives. If that is your interest for a visit to Madrid, the Trafalgar also offers great options for transportation--or even walking--to the principal sites of interest. Many hotels in this area have recently been updated, and the Trafalgar shows its age. Decor and style are more than a couple of decades old. Nonetheless, maintenance has kept up with the years, and everything if fully functional--if no longer trendy.I arrived to the hotel on the Metro, taking Line 1 from the Atocha station to the Iglesia stop. From there, it was about three blocks down hill to the hotel entrance, right at the corner of Eloy Martínez and Trafalgar. The lobby is small, and happily for me there was no wait to check in.The receptionist was quick and efficient, if not overly friendly. I had reserved a double room for my solo stay, and I suspect that he gave me a single, as the large bed took up most of the space, leaving just a path to walk around. There was little space to store a suitcase out of the way. But the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. In comparison, the bathroom was very large and completely clean and functional. I heard little street noise from my 7th floor room, and I enjoyed the views from the large balcony, which would have been ever lovelier in warmer weather. I had a quick lunch in the hotel cafeteria on arrival, right before closing time. The fixed price menú del día was a good value and very conveniente when I didn't want to search the neighborhood on an empty stomach. Otherwise, I ate breakfast and other meals out and about in Madrid.I'll return to the Trafalgar when in need of a good location and affordable accommodation in Madrid.

    Great views!

I recently stayed at this property. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the bathroom, the room, and the balcony! I wasn’t expecting a balcony! It was great to have the cool air flow through the room while I packed for my return home. Before leaving, I lost my hat and the lovely cleaning lady found it right away! Would recommend.
