  Avoid for nearly £600 for 6 nights you can get better in Madrid

  • Booked a twin room for myself and my 15-year-old son, as clearly advertised as the last available room — only to be told after payment that no twin rooms were actually available, and it was only a double bed. • This situation was completely unacceptable — a parent and teenage child cannot reasonably be expected to share one bed. • Communication with Laura was extremely frustrating — constant back-and-forth emails with no solution offered, and a very unprofessional tone throughout, even after explaining we were travelling for my mother’s funeral. • Shockingly, Laura’s position was that after paying, we should simply accept sleeping in the same bed — completely inappropriate and lacking basic empathy or customer care. • After repeated insistence, Madalina responded and offered an “extra bed” — but only if we paid an additional €25 per night, despite the fact we had already booked and paid for a twin room. This felt very unfair and exploitative. • The extra bed provided was completely unfit for use: • Extremely unstable — every movement caused loud metal noises • Both my son and I could not sleep at all, also given just a few sheets on the bed they used to come off easily • I even had to improvise by putting a slipper under the bed to try to reduce the noise • My son was initially given an old, inadequate blanket instead of a proper duvet — despite requesting one, it took 2 days for this basic item to be provided. • The cleaning service was very poor: • One cleaner was extremely rude when politely asked to clean the room • She dismissively said she was going home in 5 minutes and would not return • Cleanliness standards were unacceptable: • Dust throughout the room, bedside, old dusty hair dryer ; also please see the pictures; after the cleaning lady *cleaned the room she didn't remove wrapping that I put next to the bed due to the fact there was n bin in the room; so she didn't properly clean • Lots of hair visible on the beds and bathroom surfaces upon entering the “new” room (photos taken as evidence) • Despite being told no twin rooms were available, my sister and a Spanish friend called daily and were told that twin rooms were in fact available, except one day— yet we were denied and charged extra. • Only after further insistence in the final 2 days were we moved to a twin room — highlighting that the situation could have been resolved much earlier.Even in the new room: • Only 2 small towels were provided for two people • When requesting additional towels, the same cleaner responded rudely and refused, very unprofessional • Cleaning staff in the hallways were loud and disruptive • Talking loudly, phones ringing, and laughing without any consideration on most mornings • No regard for guests who may be tired from travelling and trying to rest • Overall experience was deeply disappointing, stressful, and poorly handled from start to finish. • As a customer used to hospitality standards not only in London but around Europe, I can confidently say this level of service, organisation, and attitude would be completely unacceptable anywhere else • I would not recommend this hotel based on: • Misleading booking practices • Poor communication • Lack of empathy • Extra unfair charges • Low cleanliness standards • Rude and inconsiderate staff • A very upsetting experience, especially given the sensitive reason for our trip.

  Nice and functional hotel, not very fancy apart from the entrance which is beautiful but perfect for short stays.The room was clean and simple , bathroom was nice, I just wished they provided some hangers for clothes and towels. Receptionist were nice and professional

  The staff was wonderful and helped us navigate the bus & train system especially Magdalena. She took the time to explain to me the best way to go. She is amazing. The hotel is dated but clean and has comfortable beds & pillows. We stayed out of the city since was nephew stayed here with his team. Great experience and great recommendations from all staff members.

  This is a pretty clean and well maintained older property. Yes the rooms are small and have no extras (microwave, fridge, etc), but are pretty standard for rooms in Europe. The bathroom was also decent and the beds comfy. The staff was relatively nice and professional. The breakfast was overpriced for how sub-par it was. But the price of the room was quite good (just under 40 euros as I recall). It was also pretty quiet in the room which is rare in a European hotel.All that said there is one reason we will never return to this place. They have no room phones. Well there actually is a phone in the room, but it can't communicate with the outside world, only internal to the hotel. You might not think this would be an issue today with cell phones everywhere (as obviously the hotel sees it). But since our US cell phones didn't work in Europe, we had no way to communicate with the family that we were there to visit in town. No, they couldn't call us at the hotel and we couldn't call them without going down to the lobby. So any coordination for family activities required someone from the family to get in a car and drive the 2 miles to the hotel to tell us what the plan was for the evening or when they would be picking us up. That got old really fast.How, you must ask, can a hotel in the 21st century have no way to patch an incoming call through to the phones that are in the guest rooms? Its Spain.If the hotel were to figure out how to make their room phones function like normal phones we would stay here again. But it is doubtful that this will ever happen. Its Spain after all.

  Clean and comfortable but the room was very small for the price. Bed was crisp and pillows ok. The location is alright but we didnt enjoy the restaurant. The reception staff were proffessional but not too friendly
