    Very Clean very friendly - easy check in process. Th room was warm so I had to open a window - no problem. Issue was the locals - screaming in the plaza all night long until 6am. We got no sleep. Other than that - really nice hotel and location for the money!

    Stayed here while visiting Madrid. The area itself is lovely and very picturesque. Reception staff were extremely welcoming and kind, room is very spacious and well maintained. The hotel is a little dated but it should be appreciated that it is part of the charm. Still, while we appreciate the character and history, listening to next door through thin walls wasn't ideal, but nor was it the end of the world! Lovely hotel with lovely staff, would absolutely recommend!

    Worst Experience – Avoid This Hotel!!

    This was by far the worst experience we’ve had with any hotel. We were given a completely different room than the one we booked, and when we chose not to stay because of this, they still charged us. No effort was made to resolve the issue or offer a fair solution. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional. We will never return and do not recommend this place to anyone.

    An excellent location next to the university, main plaza, pedestrian areas, and lots of restaurants. Reasonably priced, and had a room available with 3 beds. The hotel is in a historic building and is located on a very pleasant plaza with nice gardens.

    This is a very beautiful hotel, right in the Center of Alcalá de Henares. We loved the book and reading related decor and our room was lovely and had nice furnishings. It has the amenities that one would associate with a 3 star hotel. The staff that we dealt with was friendly and professional. The reason for the average rating is that this hotel needs to do some serious renovation of its sound-proofing. Our room was first floor, facing the plaza in front of the University. I cannot be certain, but it is possible that all rooms face this plaza. The noise from the plaza was unbearable. People partying directly below our window, children running around and screaming until nearly 2 AM. It did not make for a restful night's sleep. We stayed on the RAMBLA in Barcelona, first floor, and when we shut the door to the outside it was completely silent. We realize that the hotel is not responsible for what happens in the plaza, although the party below our window was from the hotel. Please invest in some decent Climalit windows. If we ever come to Alcalá overnight again, we will not stay here, despite its obvious good qualities.
