  This aparthotel is fantastic. The staff is very nice and professional and the facilities are great. Located in a lovely neighborhood walking distance from Atocha station, the hotel offers a quiet and pleasant atmosphere while staying in Madrid. The apartment we got, 51, was very clean, well appointed and with every possible convenience one may need. The breakfast basket was a nice touch and the products it contained were of good quality and tasty. There is a pool, which we saw from our unit but did not visit given that it was winter. Very nice experience and definitely will stay here next time we are in Madrid.   Exceptional Stay!

  I cannot say enough good things about Eric Vokel Atocha Suites. The staff are exceptional! I dealt with several different staff members and they all provided flawless service. I stayed in a one bedroom suite that came with a full size kitchen. There was a comfortable bed, roomy closets, a sofa, a TV with local and international channels, air conditioning, and black out shutters. A breakfast bag was included. I received ciabatta rolls, a chocolate chip muffin, and various condiments. In the fridge was milk, yogurt, and jamon. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Atocha, yet you are away from the more touristy restaurants and shops. There is a small Supermarket Dia just down the street. The large Mercadona is just a few blocks south. The walls were solid. I didn't hear my neighbors at all. A few people here have complained about street noise at night, but Hey, you are in a city that is up all night. I slept with a noise machine and didn't wake up once. The only downside is that there is no reception after 5pm, which can be daunting for those with late check-ins. Eric Vokel may wish to consider having their reception close at 7pm or 8pm, which is still early for Madrid. Regardless, next time I am in Madrid, I would definitely stay here again.   Horrible check in experience. Not ideal location to see Madrid.

  Horrible idea that reception closes at 5 pm. You cannot access the building after that unless you have the code. Having booked via a travel agent, we did not get any code from Eric Vokel! Why would you offer your suites through travel agents if you don’t give them full information?! We had to call to ask about the code. This was an international call and it costs alot. But if someone did not have access to such a call?! They would have to go look for a phone to call you! Did you not really think about this? Why would you make the check in experience so horrible for your guests who arrive after 5 pm?! .. after being able to access the building with the code, we had to go through another nightmare, which is self check-in using the machine, spent a long time to enter the (so many) information required, at the end the machine showed an “error”!!! Had to call again to receive the instructions of how to find the “emergency” key! A horrible experience which happened twice during this trip in both Eric Vokels we stayed at in Madrid and Barcelona. The location of this Eric Vokel Atocha is not ideal, unless you’re staying overnight and need to be near Atocha station. The room size is bad, if you open the sofa bed you can barely walk between the room to the bathroom. And for the price we paid (€380/night), did not even find a bottles of water, at least for the first night. No room cleaning.We stayed 5 nights.This was my 7th trip to Madrid.By far the worst stay ever.

  Very average apartment in need of updating and some new decor. Needs new linens too! Our bath towels were thin, bottom sheet didn’t fit the bed properly so moved during the night. The decor is drab and in need of refreshing. I haven’t been to the other Erik Vokel apartments but this one is in need of some love!! Not a nice street but the location overall isn’t bad. I think the managers need to get themselves down here and have a meeting. I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation to friends or family. Sorry guys but lift your game!!
