    Good location overlooking central Plaza de Espana (replanted and enlarged with other parks, so nice for a walk to Egyptian temple or Royal Palace). Clean modern bathroom, room large with small kitchen. Rooms need updating. I would not try the aircon unit! Don't pay for the breakfast - very poor - no good bread or muesli, no plain yoghurt and awful coffee from a machine. It is served in an inappropriate crowded, cramped room up a flight of steep stairs.

    Run Away If You Need A/C

    Currently in Room 209 and the A/C is blinking a red light showing that it needs to be SERVICED and won’t blow cool air at 19c. The room is currently 28c. Went to show video of the light blinking and the manager rubbed his head, like he knew this was an issue. He first tried telling me that the A/C comes on next month per his manager (who was not there to defend that statement) At 185€/night and according to the website, the A/C should be working in Apr and not turning on in May. He then tried to show me that the A/C in the lobby doesn’t work and sets the A/C to 16c at Auto. It blows cool air. He the tried switching it to the HEAT setting. I toggle the lobby A/C to 19c and COOL running and it works fine. He shakes his head and then wants to take me to a room to show me that the A/C in THAT room doesn’t work all while this A/C in the lobby is blowing cool air (but shouldn’t according to him because it isn’t May. So he goes to turn off the A/C in the lobby and I said lets keep it running and see if it turns hot while we see the other room but he refuses to let it run while we see the other room and shuts off the lobby A/C . I say there is no need to see the ‘broken’ A/C in the room of his choosing. He says my only option is to sleep with the windows open but on 4/10/26 at 10:20 pm….PM! the air quality in Madrid according to Apple weather is all RED showing UNHEALTHY. Avoid this place!

    Great base for exploring Madrid

    Nice hotel. Common areas are a bit worn down but the rooms are nice. The kitchen came in handy. The room and bathroom were very clean. It has a new bathroom. We asked for an electric kettle but were out of them. Housekeeping hand washed the dishes each day. (Maybe not the best job ) The location is great, right off of Gran Via, making it very convenient. The location is quiet and the hotel seemed to be quiet, except for the guest who was having an argument on his phone in the middle of the night one night. I do recommend this hotel as a good base for exploring Madrid. Some of the rooms may have great views too. Can’t hurt to ask.

    Full marks on location . Its on gran via the busiest and happening street of madrid. The royal palace is 5 min walking from hotel.However its an old construction and most of the amenities dont work.Our wifi signal was very weak, on requesting also the hotel did not give us any alternate. Servicing is bad.the overall experience was not good.

    It is in a reasonably good location. Quite close to the royal palace and cathedral. Hotel was clean. It was pretty good value. A little dated, and a bit basic, but did the job for a first trip to Madrid.I would probably opt for somewhere nicer next time.
