    I arrived much later than anticipated due to delayed flights and was greeted very kindly. The hostal is on the sixth floor of a neoclassical building; however, there are three elevators, so access is not a problem. The room was adequate for my needs and very clean. Wi-fi worked flawlessly, there was no lack of hot water and the bed was comfortable.Service here is excellent. I stayed here for two nights. On the second night, I wanted to make a cup of tea in my room and asked the proprietor for a cup of hot water. She went into the back room, boiled a kettle of water and gave me a teapot full of boiling water and a china mug on a tray to take back to my room with me. I would definitely recommend Hostal Hispano-Argentino and would not hesitate to return. The central location is convenient to transit and is within walking distance of many of the city's attractions. Others are a short metro ride away. Since Gran Via is a very busy road 24 hours a day, I would recommend asking for an inner facing room. My room faced a courtyard, for which I was thankful. Despite the lack of view, there was very little to no noise in the room and I slept very well.All in all, a very solid bet in the centre of Madrid.

    Terrible staff, they hang up the phone. The beds are terrible and very hard. No guests are allowed, even if you have family visiting. Spend your money elsewhere. After checking out on the very first night and returning to speak to the front desk, they agreed to refund me one night. Priceline has been trying to reach them for a week to process the refund and they are denying the refund. The man at the front desk is unprofessional, argued with me for 20 minutes.

    Stayed in May 2018. The hotel was lovely, even though it was on the sixth floor. The hotel was fairly basic, but the staff were extremely helpful and couldn't help us enough. This hotel was situated on the Gran Via and was an excellent location. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

    Great Location But Some Things To Consider...

    The location alone, as well as the price, make this place worthy of consideration. A few caveats:The beds are rather uncomfortable but serviceable. Room fronting Grand Via will be noisy.The shower is tiny. If you are a large person, this isn’t the place for you. Also, the sides of the shower are very high; I found it to be downright hazardous getting in and out.I did have an issue with cleanliness, but I complained at the front desk and it was resolved.

    When i arrived, the woman at the desk was great. I had a few problems with the owners, but they were basically resolved.The place is in its final stages of being redecorated and is very attractive. Everything was fine. The location was perfectThe elevator went directly from the lobby to the 6th floor with no steps to climb. The elevators in most of the hostels in the area stop between floors and people must walk up or down a half flight of stairs. This building was really good.. . .
