Location

The hotel is easy to reach via the A1 motorway. It is located close to the Alcobendas industrial park, close to the Rio Norte shopping centre, just around 500 m from Morajela Business Park, 2 km from IKEA, 500 m from a range of restaurants and about 10 km from Madrid-Barajas Airport. Offering easy access to the new T4 terminal, this airport hotel is located very close to the IFEMA exhibition centre, close to the new offices of the company Telefonica and with easy links to Madrid Burgos motorway (A1). The public transport links of Jarama and the Cosmocaixa Science Museum are both nearby.

Facility

109 double rooms are located on 5 storeys and can be reached by 2 lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the 24-hour reception desk are happy to answer any questions. A cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a souvenir shop. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a car hire service, room service, a laundry service and a coin-operated laundry. Complimentary newspapers are available. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience.     In general, a decent place. It caters more to the working crowd and/or passing thru folks like us.Nice clean and efficient rooms. Good bed for sleep etc.Breakfast was a bit more sparce then we have been getting at other places, but the cost reflects it and free parking.     Great away from city center hotel

    The hotel delivers in all respects. Well appointed, clean and airy rooms, decent sized bathroom includes a bidet. The staff were super helpful. The breakfast spread was decent and plentyful. Services requested at the front desk were quickly and courteously delivered.     Hotel is in a convenient location, but its very tired building and surrounding area. The rooms were also tired and the AC was not very good either.     Quite a comfortable hotel to spend just one night. The service of staff was polite, rooms were quite comfortable but warm as blowers were off , had to keep the window partly open and breakfast was quite good too.     A One Night Hotel at the Most

    There is only one reason I would choose this hotel again – if I am taking care of business in the immediate area. The staff is professional, the facility is nice and clean, Wi-Fi works well, but the location is lacking. If you want to be near the Barajas airport or the industrial facilities nearby and do not plan to leave the hotel, this is a competitive choice; if not, keep looking. The price I paid was slightly lower, but it does not compensate for the dull location. The amount I saved on lodging, I will spend on Uber. Google Maps show “Centro Comercial Carrefour Alcobendas” within walking distance with a choice of restaurants and stores. The problem is that it is on the opposite side of “Carretera de Fuencarral.” There is no pedestrian infrastructure to get there unless you walk on the highway, which is dangerous, and I don’t recommend it. I walked around with my GPS and could not find a way. This is an industrial zone with limited choices to offer a guest. Alleys, dead-ends, warehouses, and automobile manufacturer offices surround the hotel. However, there is a way to walk to a plaza featuring a Toys “R” Us. The only restaurant (Orale Compadre) was closed on Sunday afternoon and supposedly opened on Monday at 8 pm, so it does not help much. A PrimaPrix was closed by 3 pm on Sunday—the rest of the business sells ornaments, miscellaneous, sporting goods, or furniture. Don’t be misled by all the colorful bubbles in Google Maps surrounding the hotel. The hotel only offers breakfast from 7 am – 10 am. Management seems to have a deal with Telepizza for delivery, so I ordered. The food tasted unfrozen, and it was school cafeteria quality at best. A reflection of the lacking food services in the area is evident as the vending machines are missing a significant percentage of snacks. The room does not feature a mini-fridge like other Holiday Inn locations, so bringing drinks and/or snacks that require refrigeration is not an option. The Uber from Barajas airport to Holiday Inn Alcobendas was 14 Euros for a 15-minute ride. An Uber to the Madrid Center area was 27 Euros, which took 25 to 30 minutes. The view from my side of the hotel is uninteresting (warehouse rooftops). I can only imagine it is no different on any other side of the building. The TV is not smart, so you are limited to the channels offered (Sorry, no YouTube or Netflix). I think offering complimentary airport transportation to take advantage of the proximity to Barajas Airport should be considered.
