  Excellent stay and location

  This was a fantastic place to stay when visiting Madrid. It was in the perfect location and the right next to a metro station, so everything is incredibly easy to access. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable as well. For the price I really don’t think you can complain at all. Staff were friendly and let us store bags before check in. The previous negative reviews on Trip advisor really do the place a disservice as we couldn’t have been more happy with tour stay.

  Hostal Charlotte Great location, however room is based on 9th floor with rooftop terrace used for restaurant above. They start dragging chairs on roof around 1230am and you’ll get awakened with the noise. I’m writing this review at 252am having listened to then moving and banging chairs about for the last 2 hours - even a phone call to reception did not stop the noise from above.Reported this to reception after the first night we arrived and are still waiting on management to respond to us.If you want a good nights sleep in Madrid Hostal Charlotte isn’t the hotel you will get some - AVOID

  The direction they send me is confusing. There are several hostals in the same building. The instruction says go to floor 9. But the front desk is actually on floor 7. I booked with free breakfast included. But when I go to SkyBar where they serve breakfast, my room number is not on their list. I have to went down to floor 7 and have them call SkyBar to add my room. unlike other hotels that offer breakfast buffet, SkyBar has a menu for you to old. Basically a coffee and a sandwich. WIFI signal is so bad. I asked front desk to reboot their router. That solves the problem for like an hour or 2. Then I just give up and paid $5 to t-mobile. And room is very small and noisy. Some staff at front desk does not speak English

  Fantastic place if you like bed bugs

  Hostal on the ninth floor of a building with several one-foor hostals in the building, managed from one central reception. A bit minimalistic in terms of space and breakfast, but abundant and rich in bed bugs. Good location, everything within walking distance, including pharmacies for anti-insect sprays.

  Buyer beware Payed for a double room got a single room

  Buyer beware, First and foremost, good luck finding the place. We paid for a larger room but were given a smaller room. Because we bought and paid in advance, the hotel refused to refund any part of our money. Also, the shower leaked so the sheetrock in the room was mildewed. The noise of the elevator was very annoying. We asked for a wake-up call that never came. There was no mini bar with free snacks in the room as promised. It is also a large building, but the elevator is limited to only 4 people at a time. There is a safe, but you have to pay for it and wasn't bolted down - so it wasn't "safe", anyone could pick it up and walk out with it. Take the time to shop a little more, you'll be happier.
