  Not a safe place for women traveling alone

  My experience at CH Rayuela was not a positive one. So I want to make this review as straightforward, honest and detailed as possible. This place is a total cesspit and danger to lone women travelers. At night there is no one at reception and their WhatsApp contact information is worse than useless.This is particularly important because there was an incident the night before my flight back to London. The guest in the room next to mine came late past one in the morning and he started a phone call with his friend in a very loud tone. First, he woke me up when he slammed the room's door and after waiting a few minutes I thought I should let him know that he was talking too loud and because the walls are as thin as paper you can hear absolutely everything that happens in the room next to us. I explained to him that I had my flight very early and I had just two more hours to sleep to which he replied sarcastically "go to sleep then" he repeated this about three times and I said, “is this because I am a woman?”. When he finished talking to his friend, he mocked me saying "it is because I am a woman". Let me clarify that he was a Colombian and all this interaction was in Spanish. This psychopath then started banging the wall. He took his time and there was roughly fifty seconds between banging and it was getting louder and louder. I have this recorded with my mobile phone and every time I hear this it makes my heart race and makes me anxious. This man acted like a psychopath, and I am sure that he has a very disturbed mind and is dangerous. Now I would like to describe this hostel a little so those who read this will understand the sensation of feeling trapped with no hope of escaping. This hostel is on the 4th floor of an old building. The rooms are in a straight line of a long corridor and my room was the last one right at the end. This psychopath was in the room before mine so I felt alone and trapped, I was terrified and I couldn't think clearly. Around 01:45 I called my partner in London and told him what was happening in case something terrible happened to me he could be a witness. As the Colombian man continued banging the wall my partner could hear it clearly and this made him very anxious. We both tried to contact the hostel but as I said before their contact information is worse than useless.After what seemed like an eternity, morning finally came, I managed to find the courage to exit my room (yes, I feared he could be there waiting to attack me) Before leaving the hostel, I left the keys in a mailbox in the reception with a note to the manager telling what happened. As yet, no one has contacted me yet. That is the most chilling experience I have ever had in any accommodation and I have traveled infinitely throughout my entire life and I have never experienced a night like this. That's why when I came out of that hostel, I promised myself to write my experience so that no woman experiences something like what happened that night. I traveled without sleeping, exhausted and every time I listen to that recording I suffer from anxiety. I honestly hope that they change their policy in this hostel from now on and improve the service in case someone has to contact them in case of an emergency at night

  Perfect for one night
