  Avoid at All Costs – Total Scam! MYD Madriz Hostel & Hostel MYD La Latina

  This place is an absolute nightmare and should be shut down immediately. When I arrived, there was nobody at the property, the door was locked, and no one answered the phone or messages. I was left outside at night with my luggage and had to find another hotel nearby just to have a roof over my head.When I came back the next day, they refused to check me in, claiming I was a “no-show” even though it was their own fault for not being available! After a long and unpleasant argument, they finally allowed me to check in, but the room was disgusting and completely different from what was shown online. The place was messy, poorly maintained, and absolutely not worth the money.The staff were rude, unhelpful, and dishonest. They kept making excuses and didn’t care at all about the inconvenience and extra costs I had to pay because of their negligence.I lost two full days in Madrid dealing with this disaster. This hostel is a scam, completely unprofessional, and should be avoided at all costs.

  Hostel MYD Latina is DESPICABLE and CROOKED

  I URGE YOU, DO NOT TO BOOK THIS DESPICABLE HOSTEL. They are crooks who con people.I booked a bed in this hostel for 25/10/24 and 26/10/24. I sent an email to advise I would arrive around midnight, due to my train arriving in Madrid at 23.00.When I arrived, I buzzed the intercom and received no answer, finally after 4 buzzes and the prerecorded message, someone answered.They took my name and said they have my details, but advised that the reception closed at 22.00. There is no mention of this in my confirmation email whatsoever.Then the line went dead. I had to ring several times before it was answered again. Again going through the same prerecorded message, before the same person answered. He asked where I booked, as the reception is closed, I asked why this is important if he had already confirmed my details. He then hung up, I tried calling over 15 times via the intercom and received no answer.I walked away and returned 10 minutes later and he answered, when I said my name, he hung up.I was left on the streets with nowhere to go, despite paying for 2 nights. Every hostel I phoned or went to was fully booked, leaving me in the streets, cold, wet and alone.

  I was in Madrid for Christmas with a friend and I want to say that our stay was amazing. The bathroom was big, clean, it had a hair dryer, so overall good. I liked the shower, the water was hot, plus there was soap provided. The bedroom was good, the bed and bedding were warm, soft and comfortable. I liked that every bed had a curtain, light and socket. At some point I was bothered that someone forgot to turn off the light after they left, so one night I did not sleep. I would suggest stickers with a reminder to turn off lights. It would also be good if the locks for the lockers were already provided so we wouldn't need to buy our own. The breakfast was also good however we missed it for half our stay as you don't mention it's included in booking. Overall it was one of the best hostels I stayed at and I recommend it.

  Among the disadvantages of this hostel, I can only mention one - I did not immediately find it, because this second hostel is new and there are no indications that the reception is located on the next street. So make a phone call right away. Myd La Latina 2 is a new hostel, so otherwise an ideal option, because everything is new. Very clean, everything is shiny, and in June there were only two of us in a large room. Great place!

  Awful, lost $130 because they charged twice

  Hi i have been travelling for 6 months and this was the worst hostel I have been too. They charged me for my stay twice. When I asked for refund they advised they will send it through and then never did and stopped responding to me. Awful customer service. I know another person this happened too I think they charge people twice on purpose and see if you notice
