    Great location, very average hotel

    rating21 Nov 2023

Classic city centre tiny rooms with a very strange "enter via the bolted-on bathroom" setup. Friendly staff but not very organised. This isn't a great hotel, the bar is not really a true bar "no, sorry, we don't have any white wine" and breakfast served in the same room is also pretty poor. No choice, just a plate with some fruit, some processed cheese and meat, and a couple of pastries.Having said that, location is very good, this is a great neighbourhood to stay in and plenty of places to eat & drink.Overall though, city centre prices and didn't feel like value for money.

    A little Gem!

    rating09 Oct 2023

An amazing little boutique hotel in a great part of town. Lots of interesting cafes nearby, a walk away to Gran Via, Abalu is surprising as it’s funky and fun decor and Alexa playing music as you enter and great big pink flamingos in your bathroom near your jacuzzi tub! Really enjoyed our stay, excellent service. The only issue we had was that they seem to have issues with their plumbing as drainage in tub and sink was very slow.

Terrible Experience with No Understanding of Customer Service

    rating21 Jan 2020

We booked 3 nights making it clear we had to have a quiet room. The room offered on check-in was facing the main street and very noisy. We asked to be moved but were told we had made a mistake in our booking and only after insisting that the receptionist talk to the manager did we get moved to a 'junior suite' at another part of the hotel. To call this a 'junior suite' is a bit much, we have stayed in standard hotel rooms that were better. It was also just as noisy from paper thin walls and people talking loudly at all hours, the last at 2:30am.We also were offered valet parking prior to our arrival, again valet is not the word for it. The car park is in another street and we had to park the car ourselves, not what I call 'valet'. Overall a very bad experience. The receptionist who handled our problems was more concerned with whether she could resell our room rather than resolve our problem in a professional and courteous manner. She continuously interrupted when we were trying to explain the problems and had no listening skills. At the price charged for a so called 'boutique' hotel the whole thing was a ripoff! We had booked for 3 nights, stayed only one but were still charged for three as we couldn't stay any longer if we wanted a good nights sleep.

The worst hotel in Madrid that they dare to call it boutique....

    rating13 Jan 2020

I made a reservation via booking.comFor a double room of 17 square meters with a patio on the the description of the roomI arrived only to find out that there is no patio to the room and the room allocated it was max 11 square meters with shower in the middle of the room and toilet and sink left and right Needless to say that this room was not featured in any of the photos allocated to a double room in booking.comAnd the hotel manager firstly described my reservation as a petit double room initially ( not the 17 square meters that was allocated in booking) then she was trying to convince that is normal as they don’t feature all the photos of the rooms and she was insisting to check my reservation confirmation that was still written and confirmed a double room with nothing extra described as petiteI call that a scam. And finally she said that a patio is not an outside space but is internal looking rooms and this is the description to it........It is like going to the butcher to buy meat and arrive in your house to open the bag and find fish inside the bag........exactly that. You would be better off in a nice hostel in madrid that this so called boutique hotel I walked out of there and booked myself in another boutique hotel a real one this time ... Needless to say they denied to refund the money ....
