  Luggage stolen in hotel reception whilst paying for room!

  No security at all! Luggage stolen whilst paying for room in hotel lobby. Hotel staff didn’t show huge concern or surprise told us we had to go to the police station they refused to phone the police for us! Staff admitted it’s happened before. Shame as this has now tainted our views on Madrid and trust in locals!   For the cost of this hotel I would expect more, poor and tired rooms, breakfast wasn't great either, too bright and music too loudreception staff not very helpful either, they wrote my CC card details down as a security deposit and when I asked for the invoice in the morning they told me I would have to email them for it, strange as every other hotel I've stayed in provide this as a matter of course at check out, so overall not a great experience Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel Madrid Centro Affiliated by Melia, responded to this review Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.We regret that your perception did not reflect the quality and service standards that we strive to offer.   The location was great! The room was comfortable and clean. One of the things we liked the most was the breakfast buffet. It had so many different options to choose from.   This hotel had a great location right on the Grand Via. The room was adequate, though a bit basic, with no decoration, and there was no bar or comfortable lobby area. However, the breakfast buffet was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Not a bad choice.
