  I will probably always remember this as one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences I’ve had.I had requested early check-in in advance - which was not possible, fair enough - but I was then explicitly told the room would be ready at 14:00. In reality, I only got access at 14:30. When I finally entered the room, I was genuinely shocked by its condition. For the price paid, it was unacceptable - honestly, one of the most unpleasant rooms I’ve seen. I don’t believe that room should be assigned to guests at any price.I was traveling with a small dog (2 kg), which I had clearly communicated beforehand and also paid an additional fee for. What surprised me even more was being told that this was the type of room allocated to guests with pets. That is simply not acceptable.To be fair, a younger staff member (dark hair) was kind and helpful, and she arranged for us to move to another room. However, the issues continued - the hotel’s system was down, the key didn’t work, and I was told to use the room without a functioning key card, meaning no electricity and having to ask staff to let me in every time I left. Mind you, i was only supposed to stay for 1 night.At that point, I requested a refund. The interaction with another staff member (an older blondish woman) was extremely disappointing - she was rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily confrontational. While repeatedly addressing me as “madame,” her tone and attitude were anything but respectful. It was clear she was reluctant to process the refund and made the situation far more stressful than it needed to be.In the end, after some back and forth, the cancellation was approved and refunded on the spot - although not without attempts to shift blame onto Booking and suggest delays.Had the situation been handled professionally, I likely wouldn’t be writing this review. However, due to the poor room condition and especially the attitude of certain staff, I cannot recommend this hotel. There are many better options in the same price range - I would strongly suggest considering those instead.I’m genuinely surprised this hotel is rated as 4 stars.   Location is very good for easy access to all main areas. Staff are very helpful & friendly. Room was nice, modern & clean. Breakfast choice was limited, but sufficent to start the day & leave plenty of room for Tapas!Would most certainly use again if/when we return to Madrid

  The hotel was good and the location was excellent but the kitchen was very poor . Small plate of cheese only , coffee machine was always not working and the milk was off.
