Location is great, near to the metro station Sol. Building is located on the rush street next to the bar. The room was very small, but included air condition. Reception is working 24 hours a day, room cleaning was ok.

I was really happy with my stay here. The location is fabulous and I walked almost everywhere I wanted to go. It's a busy area known for good eating and drinking, but there was no rowdiness. The only downside was there was just one power point in my room, but I survived. The receptionists don't speak English, but they were patient and happy to wait while I typed into my translator. I mentioned that I liked the view from the room shown on Booking.com and they gave me that exact room, even though others would have been similar. My room was surprisingly quiet, but you still might like to use earplugs if you're an especially light sleeper. The balcony doors were double glazed and it was really pleasant to stand out there in the evening breeze and watch the world go by.

Cheap, clean and close to everything

Let me start by saying that I was a bit apprehensive when booking a hostel instead of a hotel, but due to that fact that this trip was more of a spontaneous last minute thing, this was the best I could find at a decent price and close to the centre. Me and my mother decided to go on a girls trip to Madrid and stayed here for 3 nights in a superior double room with a private bathroom. We paid £125 for the 3 nights stay and this is what we have to say about the place: 1. It is probably not that easy to find as it is located on one of those small side roads, but we had booked airport transfer, so they took us straight to the hostel. 2. We got there earlier than the time of check-in (2pm), but the receptionist was nice enough and allowed us to store our luggage there until check-in time. Warning: the receptionist does not speak English, only Spanish. Fortunately, that was not a problem for us. 3. The superior double room with a private bathroom that we booked was clean and spacious enough for 2 people and it also had like a kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, sink, cupboards and some cutlery and plates. We also had a fan and a safe in the room. I didn’t get why the room was called superior double, but given the fact that the majority of rooms had shared bathrooms, I guess our private one made the room “superior”. 4. The hostel is in a great location with cafes, restaurants and tapas places just outside of it, a 2/3 minutes walk to Puerta Del Sol and metro station and 7 minutes walk to Plaza Mayor. We were close to everything we could’ve needed. 5. The hostel provides WiFi for its guests, but don’t expect too much of it because the connection is not always the best. However it’s good enough to check on a few emails and text a few friends. Overall we were happy with our stay here as the hostel was clean, cheap and close to the city centre. Of course there are better options for better hotels, but if you’re looking for a cheap alternative and have a basic understanding of the Spanish language, I would recommend this place.

Nice place just to store your bags for a night. Stayed on 31 Aug 2017 for a night. Receptionist did not speak a word of English and could not find my payment which was done by Booking.com. Very dirty rooms and dirty half functioning bath rooms. There were cockroaches in the bath room. Very hot hot but fan did work without a cover. I am not sure if I wanna stay again in this place.

Single room was small but comfortable and clean. There was balcony and heating (that's very important in winter). Bathroom was super clean. It's noisy from drunk crowd on the street with a lot of clubs.Poor communication with hotel staff before arriving - all my requests for late check-in were unanswered so I had to call to booking.com support. Later hotel sent me email in Spanish asking the time of arrival. Also staff doesn't speak English.
