Central Location, But Overpriced and Underwhelming

    rating07 Sept 2025

Hotel Madrid Reina Victoria is perfectly located for exploring Madrid, and we appreciated being checked in early after our long flight from the U.S.—a thoughtful gesture that started things off well. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay didn’t live up to expectations. The surrounding construction was a major disappointment. It stripped away the charm of the area, making it impossible to enjoy even the plaza in front of the hotel. The bed was too soft for my liking—far from the comfort of Hotel Colón Gran Meliá in Sevilla. Toilet paper was surprisingly rough, which added to the discomfort. We appreciated the daily water for the coffee pot and the variety of espresso pods. Our espresso machine had issues upon arrival, but staff replaced it promptly. The nightly rate felt steep, and breakfast was an additional €30 per person per day—far too much for what was offered. Had I known about the construction and these limitations, I likely wouldn’t have booked, despite my loyalty to the Meliá brand. This stay felt overpriced and impersonal, and despite the location, it’s not a place I’ll be returning to—or recommending.

    Stylish Stay Without the Splurge

    rating01 Aug 2025

Stayed here on a recent business trip and was very pleased overall. The room offered a great balance of function and comfort, with a modern, slightly luxurious feel—ideal for working and relaxing. I was concerned that my room (1st floor overlooking the square) would be noisy at night. It wasn't at all. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh options to start the day. The only downside was the gym: it’s very small and must be booked in advance, which wasn’t clearly communicated at check-in. I later discovered I could use a nearby partner gym, but had to figure that out myself.Despite that Service overall was very good—staff were helpful and arranged dinner reservations smoothly. The hotel’s location is another big plus: right in the heart of Madrid, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and cultural sites. It also has a rooftop bar although it was closed during my stay - which may have explained the very reasonable cost. Would definitely stay again, whether for business or a personal trip. Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel Madrid Reina Victoria, responded to this review Dear Guest,Greetings from ME Madrid!Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your time at our hotel. We are delighted that you appreciated our sleek room design that seamlessly blends functionality with Mediterranean-inspired luxury. A Good Experience

    rating08 Jul 2025

We arrived just past midnight and the receptionist was quick and efficient in allocating our rooms. We found the reception to be friendly and helpful during our stay. The room, as requested, had a "courtyard" view that was not particularly attractive, but that did not matter at all, as we slept well and were out all day.The restaurant offered an okay continental-style breakfast that was satisfying. However, the restaurant was closed in the evening -plenty of options nearby. We did use the rooftop bar to enjoy the view. The hotel is a short walk from the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum . Overall a comfortable hassle free stay. Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel Madrid Reina Victoria, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.We are delighted that our 24-hour reception team provided you with efficient and friendly service, ensuring a smooth late-night check-in process. We appreciate your kind words about the sleep quality in our soundproof rooms.Regarding the breakfast, we offer both buffet and à la carte options to cater to different preferences. We apologize that our restaurant was closed during your evening visit - our Radio Rooftop Bar remains a vibrant dining alternative, and we're glad you enjoyed its panoramic views. It's wonderful to hear you appreciated our prime location, just steps away from Madrid's renowned cultural destinations like the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museums, creating an engaging experience that transcends mere accommodation. We look forward to welcoming you back for another comfortable stay in the heart of Madrid. Better options nearby.

    rating29 May 2025

Paint peeling from exterior. No hot water kettle or smart TV to stream. Really? In year 2025? Ordered ice and called three times and was finally delivered after 1.5 hours. Although I’m in a superior panoramic with balcony view there is no tub. I was informed it will cost an extra $1000 for a bathtub. Unfortunately the view is of a construction site as the square below is being renovated… Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel Madrid Reina Victoria, responded to this review Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience with us.We note your comments regarding the exterior appearance and apologize for any inconvenience caused by the current renovation of the square below. We regret that room lacked a bathtub. Our hotel offers a variety of room types, some of which have this amenity.Regarding the delayed ice delivery, our team strives to provide an attentive service at all times, however, we apologize for not meeting your expectations in this case.We hope to welcome you back for a more seamless experience in the future.Kind regards,Marina N., Voice of Customer Coordinator

    Heart of Madrid

    rating02 May 2025

This is a wonderful hotel. Great location close to everything. The staff are gracious and spend time to tell you about the hotel and offer any assistance with what you need. The room has a generous mini bar, , flat screen Bose like sound system that also carries into the bathroom if you don't want to miss anything, gorgeous marble bathroom with rain shower head and spa like 8 headed shower sprays, multidimensional mirror and a magnifying mirror. There is a roof top bar for evening tapas and drinks, and restaurant on the first floor for breakfast option.I read some of the other reviews and felt they were unreasonable. First, if you are traveling to Europe, expect smaller rooms. We have been to nearly every country in Europe. This is a luxury hotel. If you want bigger, super luxurious hotels plan on spending more than 800 euro a night. But for 200-500 euro a night four star hotel, this hotel has a lot to offer. Hospitality in Europe is an art and they are very proud to spend as much time with you that you need. Even if that means people behind them have to wait. But I assure you when your turn comes up they will be just as gracious to you with all of your needs addressed. We could use more of that in the world. Not less. Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel Madrid Reina Victoria, responded to this review Dear Guest,Greetings from ME Madrid!Thank you ever so much for your wonderful and insightful review. It brings us immense joy to know that your experience at ME Madrid Reina Victoria was filled with comfort, attention, and the distinctive spirit of hospitality that we strive to offer each of our guests. We’re delighted that you enjoyed the prime location, the attentive and thoughtful service from our team, and the many in-room details designed to elevate your stay — from the immersive sound system to the spa-inspired bathroom experience. Your appreciation for the rooftop bar and restaurant spaces also means a great deal to us.We also want to sincerely thank you for your thoughtful perspective regarding European hospitality and room design. Your words reflect not only understanding, but generosity — and we are grateful to have hosted a guest who values time, quality, and connection as much as we do.It would be our absolute pleasure to welcome you again whenever your travels bring you back to Madrid.Warmest regards,Martina P.Voice of Customer Coordinator
