THEY REFUSED TO LET MY FRIEND IN WHEN HER FLIGHT GOT DELAYED EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD PAID FOR THE NIGHT!!!!My friend got the worst experience when she arrived in Madrid around 1 am because her flight got delayed. They refused to let her in after 00:30 even though she was alone in a foreign country, in the middle of the night, with nowhere to go!!! And they are refusing to refund her!

Check the Room Type when Booking. Decent Hostel, Good Location

    rating06 Jul 2023

Careful what you book on third party websites, I booked a 'twin room' but it was really a shared twin room, ie a shared hostel room. I explained my issue and they wouldn't help wanting another 50 Euro to upgarde, even when the room was empty at 4pm.Besides that (which wasnt really the hostels fault) check in was easy and friendly and gave clear instructions of the property. Id advise you to listen carefully as there is a swipe card to get in the bottom floor, a code for the entry door and a different code for the bedroom door. And there is no reception in morning or evening if you run into trouble. Room itself was quite a small room for 2 but did have a locker each and was nice and clean. Beds were comfy and clean and the hostel provided a towel which alot of hostels do not. There were 3 bathrooms; each with a toilet and shower. Very small but good enough. I didn't use the kitchen but was there if needed. Location was really good and I could walk to most attractions.

Good and cheap hostel in Madrid

    rating13 Feb 2021

If you want to visit Madrid and you don't want to waste a lot of money in the accommodation, you must go to MuchoMadrid. The location is perfect (on gran Vía, one of the most important street of Spain), the host is very nice and very helpful, and the price is very interesting for Youngs travelers.

    Gran Via views!

    rating27 Jul 2019

Bit of an odd set up to begin with - wandered past the place a few times until you realise its at number 59 on Gran Via in what looks like the lobby of an office block - Mucho Madrid is on the 7th floor. It's just down from where they show Lion King.Check in was very easy - greeted by a nice young girl who checked us in and they offered us the choice of 701 or 702 - chose 701 for the view and mini balcony. The rooms themselves are perfectly acceptable - reasonably sized, two single beds, a nice view out the window as mentioned and the most important bit when its 30 degrees outside - Air Conditioning !!There are three bathrooms - they are small and cramped but I guess they serve their purpose, the water pressure is decent and the temperature was never an issue.Lastly the kitchen again was small but functional - breakfast was offered which was minimal but it was enough to get you going in the morning. Overall, for the price Mucho Madrid is an absolute bargain and a perfect place to see Madrid from.

Tiny hostel on Madrid's Gran Via

    rating05 Jun 2019

It's steps away from two major and very convenient metro stations (Plaza de España & Callao), and of course need I repeat that it's situated on Madrid's Gran Via. That's like saying you stay on New York's Times Square. So yeah, it does get a little noisy after 10 p.m. when the musical-going crowd files out after watching Lion King. But hey, at least you have a good view of them and everything that goes on along Gran Via from your balcony. I felt the pictures were a little misleading. It's not a bad hostel by any means. I mean, just its address on Gran Via makes it good value for money. However, if you have stayed in many hostels, I'm sure some hostels tend to hit above the bar and really make for a memorable stay. This one, though, is just a place you return to sleep at night. There's no social vibe to speak of, no fancy or spacious lounge or common area to mingle with fellow travelers. It's basically an apartment carved out into different rooms for people to sleep. The kitchen is small and narrow, and the bar stools are so uncomfortable and pointless that I would rather stand and eat my breakfast than sit on it. On the topic of breakfast, don't expect much, so you wouldn't be disappointed.
