    I paid for high-speed access to the internet, but it didn't work. I desperately needed access to watch materials ahead of an interview with Rafael Nadal about his upcoming documentary series. I spent about two hours on the phone with the hotel's IT subcontractor who could not resolve the issue (the IT person acknowledged it was a problem with the hotel router, not my computer). I never got the internet to work during my stay at the property.     This hotel is in a good location for access to Atocha Station and the arts museums, as well as many fine restaurants. Breakfasts are copious and offer fresh fruit and excellent other choices. Staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in, more akin to a trampoline, so that whenever I or my wife moved, the entire bed jiggled. The room was so small that there was really not enough room to open two suitcases and closet space minimal. The room had a nice balcony where we would sit and read in the afternoons.     Crackingly good location. Very comfortable hotel. We had a glorious park view with terrace room.     Disappointing quality

    Even on the fifth floor there was a lot of traffic noise. In such a vibrant city, at that central location, hotels should install double windows.Furthermore, the sink in the bedroom could not be used to shave (the ‘stop’ to keep the water in the sink was broken), and the door of the wardrobe was broken (could only use half of the wardrobe.There was an unpleasant smell in the lobby downstairs.The rest of the facilities were fine (Nespresso and tea, free bottle of water, bed, …), breakfast was good quality and variation and staff was friendly and replenishing all the time.
