Great location for first time visit

    rating19 Aug 2025

Excellent location. Was great staying at the hotel overall a very good experience and would stay again for the location. The hotel itself was very quirky and the fact it is as old as it is (since 1602) it adds history to it and made the stay very pleasant. We were a group of 6 including 3 children 11-16. Rooms we were given were 115 this was a quadruple room and contained a bunk bed and a double bed, other room was 411 and this was a double attic room with low ceilings. The rooms were nice and clean. Room 115 had windows but it seemed like a courtyard with rooms surrounding it and there was a lot of mess there so not much of a view. Room 411 had a small window but please be aware if you are taller then 5ft you might bang your head. Room 115 the sink was blocked for the first day then spoke to the front desk and when I came back in the evening it had been sorted. Just surprised that this was not already sorted as the cleaners had been into clean so surely they would have noticed it being blocked. The AC in the room wasn’t the best. We had booked the breakfast as part of our booking, there were a lot of options but just beware not everything was suitable for vegetarians would recommend that the hotel should put signs on the food items, my nephew picked up a yogurt and when he checked the ingredients using google translate it had gelatine in it. For me the breakfast wasn’t worth what we paid for it. Overall staff were very good at front desk, the breakfast staff did seem a bit miserable. Pedro Teler, Owner at Petit Palace Plaza Espana, responded to this review Dear 229SKY,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are glad the hotel’s location and historic character made your stay pleasant and that you found the rooms clean, and our colleagues at the front desk helpful.I am sorry about the issues you encountered. Regarding room 411, we understand attic rooms have low ceilings and can be uncomfortable for taller guests; our building’s historic layout means some rooms are more compact, and we apologize if this was not made clear at check-in. For room 115, I apologise that the sink was blocked on arrival, the cleaners should have detected it, and we have reinforced our room checks to avoid repeats. We will also review the AC unit in that room to improve comfort.Thank you for the feedback on breakfast and the vegetarian options. We will add clear labeling for dietary information and speak with our breakfast colleagues about service attitude to ensure a more welcoming experience. We have passed your comment about the courtyard mess to housekeeping so they can keep that area tidier for guests. As our hotel is located in a historic building dating back to the 17th century, room sizes and features can vary considerably. For future stays, please let us know your preferences and our colleagues will happily suggest a room category better suited to your group.Kind regards,Pedro TelerHost

A very clean central hotel with excellent service

    rating17 Mar 2025

A very central 4-star hotel, a minute from the Gran Via. A clean, tidy, kind hotel. There is a huge and cheap supermarket with all the products. A minute's walk from the hotel. There are metro stations near the hotel. You can get to the airport. There are coffee machines in the lobby. Free cold water. All the staff are kind and helpful in everything, especially the charming Flavio who answers everything. It has a coffee and tea set in the room and an electric kettle, a huge bath and toilet with an excellent flow in the shower We didn't have breakfast Esther Manzano, Atención al cliente/recepción at Petit Palace Plaza Espana, responded to this review Dear Travel47961516139,Thank you very much for your kind words about our hotel and our staff. It is a real pleasure that we managed to offer you in our establishment the perfect place to enjoy Madrid and all the emblematic places that surround us as well as the wide variety of gastronomic and shopping without limitation. In addition, we want to thank you for the beautiful words you dedicate to our team and especially to our colleague Flavio. good hotel with excellent location

    rating06 Feb 2025

The hotel is clean with an excellent location. Our room was quiet. Online check-in is convenient and fast. The staff is very friendly and responsive. The breakfast is good. Our room overlooked an inner courtyard with an artificial waterfall. The only thing that was annoying were the dark corridors.
