This hotel is situated in the heart of Barrio de las Letras, on Santa Ana square and close to the most important commercial centre in central Madrid. In the area around the hotel guests have the chance to experience a symbiosis of gastronomical and artistic creativity with the Prado, Thyssen Bornemisza and Reina Sofia museums in the direct vicinity. The hotel is only around 5 minutes from Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Gran Via or underground train station Se villa. It is about 10 km to the airport.

The hotel has 5 junior suites, 2 suites, 6 single rooms and 21 double rooms, which are located on 5 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out.     Excellent location but odd rooms, no view due to refurbishment and open bathroom

    The location of the hotel is excellent and it is within a 15 min walk from all major tourist attractions. The hotel staff are helpful and the breakfast was good.On the negative side, there is a refurbishment ongoing so all the windows are blocked (they informed us beforehand of this) - so no views. Also the rooms are really odd shaped with many corners. The bathroom area is open with no privacy, so if you are with children or friends that can be a real problem. The shower was also leaking water outside.Overall, I would say you are paying for the location but not much else.     WARNING!! False advertising! Hotel under major renovation!

    I stayed there last week of April. This hotel is undergoing major renovations!!!!!!!!!!!! You can’t see outside your room because the entire building is enveloped in scaffolding and plastic rap. Feels like your living in a cocoon. Despite numerous complaints, the hotel, to this day, is hiding the fact they are in major construction mode. Shame on the owners of this hotel and Expedia.     Living in a Cocoon!

    We stayed at Room Mate Alicia for 5 nights and were extremely disappointed by the lack of transparency regarding the major renovation work taking place during our stay.At the time of booking, the hotel listing displayed attractive photos of the property with no indication that any construction or renovation work was actively underway. Upon arrival, we discovered extensive work affecting the hotel environment, including noise, disruption, blocked areas, and an overall experience very different from what had been advertised.The location of the hotel is excellent, the breakfast was delicious, and the employees were polite and efficient. We could have rented a room with no windows, at least there would not have been this cocoon surprise!The fact that we reserved a hotel without any mention of any disruption for our stay by the hotel nor the booking site we used is unacceptable and we are pursuing legal action.     Great location in Madrid

    Fabulous hotel on the corner of the Plaza de Santa Ana. We had a basic room on 5th floor but it was comfortable with plenty of storage space and massive shower with great pressure . No view from the windows however as the hotel is getting a face lift outside on the facade no point in having a balcony as covered in scaffolding. This didn’t put us off although it’s not very attractive. Breakfast was sufficient with lots of selection of cold and hot food. Especially loved the cooked vegetables. The breakfast manager Elena was very busy keeping everything stocked up and was very friendly. Would have no hesitation in recommending this small hotel for a central location in Madrid.
