  Urban vida stays breaches their contracts

  I rented a studio from Urban Vida Stays for the summer. They had to move me to another apartment, because the one I rented had roaches. So they moved me to another appartment, in the third flour with no elevator, but it was fine. It wasn't as clean as it should be, but I cleaned it myself and the appartment was fine. But I had two problems: the internet and the washing machines were constantly breaking down and it took them days to solve it. The main problem came when I left the apartment and they did not return the deposit. It has been five weeks since my contract ended and three since the deadline they had to return the deposit and they haven't done it. I have spoken with them about ten times, I have written to them by email, and they do not solve it. They say there has been a change in administration and that is why the delay is due, and that they are going to give me the deposit back, but they don't do it. So definitely, I don't recommend renting with Urban Vida Stays

  A shameful business.

  I stayed with my wife and some friends in a two bedroom apartment. We were not given proper directions to the flat and ended up going up the wrong stairway (we didn't know there are two stairways). We obviously couldn't find our flat so I tried calling the number provided by Vida Urbana but no one answered. In our attempt to locate the flat we knocked on a door thinking it was owned by the company but it turned out to be a local lady who lives there. She was helpful but we were left furious that because of the lack of directions we ended up disturbing the peace of this household unnecessarily. Once in our flat in the second stairway we had trouble sleeping because the apartments next to us had been rented out to groups of young people who were playing loud music and having a good time all night long. We felt bad the next morning because of the lack of sleep but also because we realised that the poor lady we disturbed has to put up with this all year long and we had supported this business model with our visit. We won't be doing that again.

  I loved staying in this cozy apartment just a few minutes walk away from the center of Madrid. It’s a spacious apartment with a full kitchen two bedrooms and a small area with a pullout. It has two bathrooms perfect for family trips. Everything was in excellent working condition and very clean.

  Great place, great location. Helpful staff, clean, comfortable and efficient. I need the heart of Madrid everywhere within walking distance. Appartment clean, tidy, quiet and well proportioned. A great city stay, thank you.

  Poor customer service and dirty apartment

  We stayed at the Calatrava apartments during April this year. On arrival the apartment block was confusing but we found our apartment after about 10 minutes.Once entering the apartment it was clear that someone had spent time there prior to our arrival. The bed had been slept in, shower used and a dirty glass in the sink.We spoke to the guy in the Calatrava office who checked the apartment and apologized as he was very embarrassed. He wasn’t sure how this happened.He tried to get a cleaner in that evening but this was not possible so between us we had to make the bed so we could get sleep as we had been up very early travelling.A cleaner came in the next day and we were given a bottle of wine as an apology. The guy also said head office would be in touch regarding compensation and would likely offer a free trip.Since returning from Madrid I have had one brief email from the company which didn’t really say anything or help at all and all my subsequent emails have been ignored. I have sent three or four follow up emails and heard nothing.I am so disappointed with this very poor customer service as I expected more.In general we liked the apartment and had a great stay but this poor service both on arrival and subsequently has put me off returning or recommending.Very disappointed.
