Location

Situated in the sophisticated district of Salamanca, only a mile and a half from Puerto del Sol and opposite the Retiro Park, this luxury hotel enjoys numerous shopping venues, restaurants, bars and local links to the public transport network in the vicinity. The airport is roughly 10 miles from the hotel.

Facility

22 junior suites, 6 suites, 21 single rooms and 212 double rooms are located on 8 storeys and can be reached by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. There are a number of shops as well. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a TV room and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, translation services, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. A bicycle hire service gives guests the opportunity to explore the surrounding area independently. Complimentary newspapers are available. A business centre with fax machine and projector is available.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. For guests' convenience, units include a refrigerator and a mini fridge. Further amenities include an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, a plug adapter, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Guests can take advantage of the nightly turndown service. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a bidet. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror, bathrobes and a telephone are provided. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    Charm and pure elegance in Salamanca

    Love to come back here as always, this time for a family trip. The rooms have strongly improved in many areas, like the heating/cooling system and changing the thermostats with touch screen devices that allow a better regulation. We were in a recently refurbished room and also all my family. Impeccable service and kindness, porters, check in, lobby restaurant, rooms. All fantastic. The lobby now offer a full menu, it can be a bit more noisy and crowded but in quiet time it’s still possible to enjoy a tea in calm and quietness. A bit more of attention to cleaning would be needed since the lobby now is more under pressure due to meals service, but just small details to keep its perfection.     My stay at the Wellington Hotel was a very pleasant experience overall. The staff werewelcoming, polite, and always ready to help with anything I needed..The hotel itself has a classic feel. Although it is an older property and you can notice some outdated elements in certain areas .One of the biggest highlights is the location, which is truly phenomenal. It is perfectly situated, making it very convenient to explore the surrounding area, enjoy nearby restaurants, and get around the city easily.What impressed me the most was the quality of service and the pleasant attitude of the staff. They consistently made sure guests felt welcome and taken care of. emails with requests were answered promptly.Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely recommend the Wellington Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel an unbeatable location.     Excellent service and ambience once again

    My wife and I, and my brother-in-law, stayed at the hotel for the Christmas Holidays in late December 2025-early January 2026, following a similar but shorter stay 2 years ago. I have been a repeat customer for 40 years now, and this visit was once again an extremely pleasant one. The Christmas lunch buffet was a wonderful experience to remember! When my wife contracted a bad flu, the staff did everything possible to help, from arranging for a timely visit by a doctor to bringing hot tea with lemon and ginger to the room. Particularly noteworthy (among many) in their attentiveness and empathy were staff members Peter (doorman), Pablo Sanchez (concierge) and Penny Lane (waitress). There are many positive features of this hotel, and in my view the most important one is providing the comfort feeling of a “home-away-from-home”, to which one wishes to return.     Feeling like home 🩷

    Always glad to come back in this hotel, everything as always, impeccable. A little bit colder at the check in than usual, but youngest ones need a bit more of training. Christmas decorations at the entrance and at the lobby were magic as always. The room was perfect, the breakfast was a little down in the sweets department with respect to what I remember, a display of fresh home made cakes and plum cakes. Check out smooth and easy and the door - man outside smiling and genuinely welcoming and polite as always.     Lacking in goodwill

    We booked 2 nights directly with the hotel, rather than through Booking.com etc. However, don't expect that to generate any goodwill with the management. Let's start with the positives first. The breakfast was excellent and my wife thought worth returning just for that, however...see below. Dinner was also quite nice in the lobby and the service both times was good. If you are English you may note that waiters at breakfast are not as fluent as in other towns and cities in Spain. We quite liked that as we are trying to learn the language and don't get much chance in other areas. Now to the room. We had a a superior twin. The view of the swimming pool area wasn't the best. The bed was comfy and the bedding was good. However, the bathroom was pretty poor and well below the supposed 5 star status. The shower had poor pressure even after toggling the head and a challenge for my wife's longer hair. Made more difficult as nowhere to anchor the shower attachment during use so having to hold between legs to apply shampoo etc. The marble floor and sinks, shower cubicle etc were estimated to be c40 years old with the gold plating on taps and handles worn down to the base metal below. It was difficult to know what was complimentary apart from tea and coffee (probably nothing else, not even any biscuits!). We recommend that you bring extra tea cups with you as there was only one in the room so we had our drinks in turn using the one cup! We had to return to the UK a day earlier than booked and gave notice on the second night's stay early the evening before. The reception after management referral was unable to offer a refund or discount due to it being 'company policy.' We asked for some discretion which was rejected by the front of house manager. After booking direct and saving the owners a margin on use of agencies they could not offer any gesture to us to compensate for the the cost of the unused second night, or even the cost of breakfast . A little bit mean we think but perhaps indicative of the hotel's attitude. Perhaps, given the state of the rooms, it needs our money more than we do.
