    An excellent centre for walking or cycling in a very interesting old village.

    As others have written the accommodation could do with updating but the location and setting are perfect, with great views from the bedrooms and main terrace overlooking the Mediterranean sea. In particular the en-suite and tiny shower is not practicable and we found the shower tray extremely slippery.Staff were all excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them.A good breakfast, although rather repetitive over 7-days, and dinner was ok for a couple of nights but plenty of options in the village to choose from when you wanted something a little more varied.On reflection a good place for walkers or cyclists who may chose to stay for just 2-3 nights rather than for a week but we did enjoy the location very much. Using buses to get around is very easy as they are all so efficient, modern vehicles making visiting other villages/towns an enjoyable experience. We had booked and paid for earlier in the year but sadly had a passport issue so needed to cancel on the day of arrival. The hotel were extremely good and allowed us to rebook offering a very good rate and top room for which we were very grateful.

    Beautiful location, lovely people, but very basic rooms and bathrooms

    Was not prepared for the beautiful locaiton. This is a stunning town, cut into the Tramuntana mountains. A fairly hairy, hairpin-bend journey across the mountains, but it's worth it. Almost every angle of the town shares this extraordinary view across the Med, and the hotel is no exception. Breakfast on the terrace is idyllic, and the pool area also offers one of the best views you'll see. The staff are helpful and welcoming. It's certainly a destination for walkers and cyclists, I felt we were outliers by enjoying a 11-day stay, but it was lovely. The communal parts of the hotel are homely and you can feel the history of the place. The rooms are, however, very basic. Seeing as you can't access the terrace and breakfast facilities before 8.30am - fair enough - it would be good to have a basic kettle and tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Similarly a small fridge - I can imagine that the walkers and cyclists would appreciate coming home to a cold water after a long day in the forest. The bathrooms are also very basic. The showers are small - it seems odd that the bathroom is a decent size, but the shower is tiny! Very difficult to have a good wash in such a small space. Although this would be a big expense for a family-run hotel, I can only imagine that with at least one local hotel undergoing a serious upgrade, this place might lose out if it doesn't improve room facilities pretty soon, and that would be a shame. As mentioned, the pool area is lovely, and it is kept very clean. All parts of the hotel are well-maintained and the rooms were serviced daily. I loved it here, and will live with those views for some time to come.

    Why try harder Sa Baronía?

    Great location with a lovely terrace overlooking the sea, and an inviting pool for a swim. Unfortunately everything else was substandard. The accommodation was very dated and a little dirty, the service was unwelcoming, and breakfast was mediocre at best. For the premium room prices they charge we felt quite disappointed.

    Our stay at Hostal Sa Baronia was excellent! The room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the ocean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a very nice sunset dinner at the restaurant there. Would definitely recommend!

    Genuine family-run hotel - a rare thing!

    Superb location, warm and friendly atmosphere, amazing sunsets over the sea from your balcony. This is a rare find in Mallorca, a hotel still owned and run by a local family. The location is superb, in a peaceful coastal village, looking directly out to see. No frills or luxuries (so maybe not suitable for everyone) - just enjoy the experience.
