  Could be a great hotel with a couple of welcome changes

  Stayed here for six nights and got a great price booking direct with the hotel. Check in was excellent and handed taxi receipt and fare was refunded to us (more on this later). Hotel itself and room was spotless and throughout our stay staff although had limited English were great and the other reviews moaning about it being very German didn’t bother us at all as the other guests were very polite to us as well. We stayed B&B and every morning the breakfasts had a good selection of hot and cold food and a cracking coffee machine as well. On checking out the hotel ordered and pre paid our taxi to the airport which arrived promptly and we thanked reception for a nice stay. Now for the bad bits! There are A4 posters everywhere about this and that ( see photos ) which I get due to hotel policies but we do like to lounge around the pool on our stays but the restriction on bringing in food and drink from outside the hotel around the pool meant we didn’t sit round the pool much as at 4.5 euros for a beer seemed a bit too much but I do agree with the policy of people not taking food and drinks from the restaurant because that really impacts on the cost to the hotel. Now coming back to the taxi fare our booking direct with the hotel stated that return fares would be paid by the hotel upon receipts didn’t make sense to me. We booked the six nights for 255 euros bed and breakfast and our taxis cost 45 euros so our stay cost to the hotel was 210 euros, I would suggest the hotel ditches the free taxis option but instead probably introduce a 10% maybe 20% discount on food and drink from the bar area to be consumed around the pool as we would have spent more in the hotel and around the pool. Overall a good stay and would probably stay again if these changes were implemented.

  Terrible place. Staff are really rude and it’s so unclean. I would never go back here. The room was crawling with bed bugs and we had to move hotels.

  Please be aware the area this hotel is in is predominantly geared towards the Germans The hotel only have twin beds rooms although small cleaned every day One thing to note you can only eat or drink what you have bought from the bar round the pool or in the bar and they are very strict about this A good cheap base not sure what evening meal was like as only stayed b+b Gästeservice vom Hotel , Otros at Hotel Don Miguel Playa, responded to this review Dear guests,thank you very much for your positive comment .   We were so surprised with the hotel after reading some bad reviews on here . The hotel was lovely , the rooms were clean and the beds were soooo comfy . We stayed bed and breakfast which was really good , lots of choice and something for everyone . The pool and bar was great too. This is a small hotel compared to some but that made it even better as there was no noise people up and down the corridors at night . We loved our stay and would definitely book again .   In April, my partner and I spent a week at this hotel. Being British, we noticed that we seemed to be the only ones from the UK there, which made us feel a bit out of place. The staff and other guests treated us differently, with the exception of one staff member, Daniel, who was exceptionally friendly and helped make our stay more enjoyable. A big thank you to him! The staff were not able to assist with booking a trip. We received information about a location that was unclear, and they suggested we go there directly to make the arrangements. This left us without the opportunity to engage in any planned activities from the advertising and booklets provided inside the hotel near reception.The rooms were very outdated, but the cleaning staff did an excellent job, providing daily service. However, we found the walls to be very thin, which resulted in disturbances at night from snoring and other noises like farting we hadn't encountered this ever before. Food and drinks were another concern. We were quite disappointed with the policy that prohibited consuming anything not purchased from the hotel, including water from outside sources. It felt unrealistic, especially as the hotel only offered breakfast, and we were frequently reprimanded for having snacks or drinks from local shops. We were shown rules in English for even holding or having any of these items on show.Breakfast was served as a buffet between 8 am and 10 am, which we appreciated. There was always fresh bread and meats available, allowing us to prepare our own toasties. The hotel is located about a 15-minute walk from the beach, surrounded by numerous restaurants and bars, though they mostly catered to a German clientele. The atmosphere at the hotel was lacking, particularly for English guests. There were few people around the pool, likely due to the strict rules, and in the evenings, there was no entertainment or even background music, which was disappointing as we had to venture outside to find activities and this meant we spent a lot of money. Overall we wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel.
