  Lovely Holiday! Not too sure what the complaints are about….

  Me and my husband stayed at the TUI Suneo Santa Ponsa (Globales Santa Ponsa Park hotel) for a last minute birthday celebration/honeymoon at the end of September for a week, and we genuinely had the best time!I worry a lot when I read awful reviews about hotels and where I’m autistic, this causes a lot of anxiety. However, when we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with smiley receptionists, air con and an all inclusive buffet restaurant open for lunch! The food was amazing all week - one day wasn’t as good variety, though I say that being a fussy eater and I think that’s down to personal likes/dislikes of food. Our hotel had a late night food area open too which was amazing because you can have a few drinks and then sober up before bed with fresh pizza, fresh chips and more! I’ve not had that during an all inclusive holiday before so that was good for a midnight snack! Ignore all reviews about food being poor or not cooked… there was no issues with any food during our stay at all.The entertainment was fantastic and again better than some other hotels I’ve stayed in within Majorca! The Ents team and Globy the chicken did a great job in the evenings with Bingo, Karoake and even a Quiz to enjoy! As said on other reviews, the hotel is part of a 3 hotel complex. Our hotel shared two pools with Globales Pioneero which if you got a sunbed by the pool, you were lucky! The hotel across the road however had a quieter pool and nice seating areas/sun lounge areas. You could get a space there mid afternoon which was great! Gutted we only discovered this on our last full day as our friends we made within that hotel had mentioned it to us. Was lovely to see lots of activities going on at this hotel whilst we were there too (Bowls, Target Practice and Tennis). Only criticism of pools is you’re not allowed floats which was useless for me who can’t swim and needed some aid - but you can use the long spaghetti looking floats. My only other moan was the size of our room and the neighbours who decided to start having their tv on loud until 2am with two days until the end of the holiday (always one!). Me and my husband ended up living out of our suitcases for the week. It was abit easier than putting things in the wardrobes and then trying to store the wardrobes. The bathroom was lovely, again small but was great for what we needed it for. You could get a safe key from reception for €10 which gets refunded at the end of your holiday. Santa Ponsa as an area is lovely too! The beach is beautiful- one of the best I’ve seen in Majorca! It’s got a variety of shops, food places, sports bars, Irish bars, bus links to other areas of the island - and for Jellycat collectors, there’s a shop at the end of the road which sells them! Wasn’t expecting this at all so was nice as a Jellycat collector that I could buy one to take home :) We did an excursion with TUI to Palma Aquarium too - we did the Gold Package and had the best day ever! Make sure to check it out as transfers are 15mins each way and included within your ticket! Great experience to do with your kids and for couples too!Overall, a fantastic holiday!   We were in the hotel as a family 2+1. Child is 4 yo. We ask the staff during the check in to give us the room which is silent during the night. We got a nice room 366. Room wasn't big but there was enough place for us. We also asked about the baby bed. We got the bed for our child next morning during room cleaning. The big bed was removed from the room and it made the room a little bigger. The view from the balcony was at the pool and trees. We loved the view. The balcony is big enough. You have a clothes dryer at the balcony which is a great advantage.The breakfast and supper was in our hotel. Dinner was in the hotel next to ours. We spend there 14 days and we were very happy with the food. It was delicious. Fruits also were very tasty. Our son loves ice cream and pizza. I love desserts. The dinners in the second hotel was the best we had ever eaten! Everybody in the hotel was nice and helpful. Everyday in the evening we took milk and hot chocolate for our child from the bar near the pool. The bar service was great! The hotel is in a great location. Going to the beach is about a 5 minutes walk. Shops are everywhere. Bus stop is behind the hotel. We rate the hotel 5/5. We would love to come back next year.   Good Location needs refurbishment

  Great Location, But Needs Major ImprovementsI recently stayed at this hotel and while the location is spot on – close to the beach, shops, and bars – the hotel itself really needs a total refurbishment. The rooms were small, outdated, and lacked basic amenities like a fridge or tea/coffee-making facilities, which felt like a big miss. The bathroom was cramped, with a shower tray the size of a handkerchief and both the shower head and tiles were dirty, which really didn’t make for a pleasant experience.Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, but there were a few who didn’t seem too interested in providing good service. The worst part, though, was the lifeguard at the pool. She was incredibly rude, shouting at both kids and adults, which completely ruined the atmosphere and spoiled everyone's enjoyment. There were numerous complaints about her, so I’m really surprised nothing was done about it during our stay.As for the food, it was okay. Breakfast was the usual Spanish-style spread – ham, cheese, pastries, and some bacon for an "English breakfast" (not quite the same as you'd expect, though!). Lunch was served at the sister hotel and was a bit better, with more variety. Dinner, unfortunately, was back at the Playa hotel, and it felt repetitive, with the same choices every evening. If you're all-inclusive, the snacks are served at the hotel across the road, which was honestly better than the main meals – a bit of a letdown considering the overall food quality.All in all, while the location is great, this hotel really needs an update. It’s part of the Globales group, which is a big hotel chain, so I expected better. If they can sort out the lifeguard situation, upgrade the rooms, and improve the overall food experience, it could easily be a solid option. But right now, I wouldn't return until some of these issues are addressed.   On arrival the staff was friendly, but after check in, the receptionist didn’t tell where is the snack bar, or our room is which floor. The night reception guy was rude. Bar staff was very nice. Entertrainment staff was nice. Reception ladies was really nice and helpful. The room is cheap, we were in globales playa. Basic hotel area, maybe the complexum has better areas. The room was carpeted, not really nice. We find the tv remote control deep under the bed, to turn off the tv at arrival. The top of the bed backrest was dusty. Only had two electric plug in the whole family room and in the bathroom. The shower is extremely small, not comfortable. The top shelf in the bathroom was dusty. In the shower above your head the ceiling was yellow and little bit leaked. Shower gel dispenser didn’t work properly. At cleaning we didn’t get new toilet roll and carpet hasn’t been hovered while we was there. 3 beds with two duvet only. Bed not really comfortable, high pillows, too soft mattress - back pain. Bar was nice, sangria was very good. Pool area clean, but globales pool next to the globales playa looks like much better. The water in the pool was really cold. Bar staff was really-really friendly and nice. Restaurant is clean, and busy. Breakfast and dinner was in globales playa, lunch in the neighbour globales. Unfortunately plates are not cleaned well. Food was tasty at breakfast, lots of different food. Lunch in the other hotel was nice. Meat looked like kebab was tasty, fish, crockets, salads was nice. Desserts was tasty. Dinner at globales playa didn’t had too many choice of meats, like chicken breasts. Paella was nice, pizza was okay, salads are nice. Potato wedges was really nice in both hotels. Restaurant staff was nice. Drinks in bar and restaurrant was nice. Neighbour globales staff was nice.
