Great hotel if you like big hotel stays

    rating26 May 2026

Please take in to account for this review that we had not done a large hotel holiday for about 10 years. The hotel overall is very good, but as with any stays there were niggles, and this stay has not converted us to repeating a large hotel holiday stay in the near future. The facilities at the hotel are great. Plenty of space, poolside and pool are great (though outside pool was too cold to use - the heatwave in late May had not yet arrived). Indoor pool with lazy river and sauna is great, and when we were there under used. The dining area is large and the buffet breakfast choice is enormous. Eventual room was comfortable and spacious. So what are these niggles ? Well first of all we were allocated room 119. This room shouldn't be sold. It is right above some kitchen equipment and the buzzing sound intolerable. We were moved to 129. The cheaper rooms are on the back of the hotel. You get a lot of noise from the service area - dustbin collection, laundry collection/delivery and these happen anytime from 03:00 to 07:00 - not all the time but enough to wake a light sleeper. We had to have the windows open because the air con was not working. So if you can afford it, pay for the sea facing rooms (50euro extra per night!). It doesn't say in the details but all rooms have a mini fridge and tea and coffee making which is a welcome bonus. We just did b&b and were quite glad. As mentioned food in the dining room for breakfast was great, but it is not a relaxing experience. Any cutlery or crockery that you are not holding on to gets whisked away - not joking - my wife was drinking her tea and they took the saucer from her. It's constant - they are like seafront seagulls. We had the option to do the buffet dinner for 30 euros pp and declined for fear of the same. Only for one evening were we back in time to see the entertainment - a very sparse audience enduring a fairly poor duo. Given the clientele I wonder why all the entertainment seemed to be English. The car park is not big enough at night. There are two car parks but one of them is not open to standard guests and is under used which makes no sense. Parking on the street is ok but not sure how well that will work in high season. However no sense that this is a high crime area - houses around are smart. There are three restaurants close walking distance to the hotel that are all good. Restaurant Cabana that is within the grounds of the hotel is confusing because it is actually independent of the hotel - it's really good though quite pricey. Hotel reception make no effort to inform you of this restaurant in favour of promoting their buffet. One thing that we did not know about the area or the hotel guests is that they are predominantly German, Swiss, French, with a fairly small proportion of English. That was not a problem, and it was really noticeable how the guests do smart casual well, are not raucous, and I think because the hotel has a good golf course nearby, nearly all guests were what you might call 'active' - a big contrast to what we saw at Cala Bona. You can spot the Brits a mile off. We did not expect to use the car as much as we did - weather to start wasn't great. Car hire from 'Terry's car hire' was excellent - transfer cost from airport to hotel is only just cheaper than a whole week of car hire, and Terry's wasn't the cheapest option. Palma airport is huge and absolutely no problem or delay with the new entry system. Market and walled town of Alcudia, castle at Capdepera (really close), market and steps in Pollenca, all worth visiting. So why no big hotel again ? Well for the money you can get a villa with a pool (ok, possibly shared), and we like more peace and quiet. We were not there during school holidays - expect the hotel could be different then. The advantages of room service, breakfast, poolside bar etc for us don't outweigh the get-away-from-it-all that you get with a villa or boutique hotel, and certainly don't on cost. So we won't be returning, but this hotel will tick a lot of boxes for many Dir Eurotel, General Manager at Hipotels Eurotel Punta Rotja, responded to this review Hello Simon,Thank you so much for your detailed and honest review of our hotel. We appreciate your candor and take your feedback very seriously. We regret that room 119 did not meet your expectations and that the noise from the service areas bothered you. We will do everything we can to resolve these issues and will review the affected rooms. We are undertaking a phased renovation of the property over the next three winter seasons to enhance the comfort of our guests, including the installation of soundproof windows and the optimization of the air conditioning systems. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the hotel's facilities, such as the pool, sauna, and breakfast. We will pass on your suggestions regarding food and entertainment to our team.Thank you for recommending local restaurants and attractions. We will work to better inform our guests about what's available locally. We understand that a large hotel isn't for everyone, and we respect your decision not to return. However, we hope you will give us a second chance if you visit the area again.Best regards,José Serrano – Director.

I had a splendid 8 day stay in this hotel. I cannot fault it! I had a lovely room with a very comfortable bed, and well appointed bathroom. The hotel was in a beautifully quiet location near to the sea, with a lovely garden and pool area. We’ll be back!

    rating06 May 2026

A well received return to the hotel I spent many a happy summer holiday when I was a child 40 odd years ago. It is still beautiful and unspoilt and has changed very little apart from moving into the modern day decor and facility wise. The hotel is spotless and the staff work tirelessly to keep it so. They are so warm, polite and can’t do enough for you. The rooms are large and again very clean. Try to go for a sea view as the view is magnificent. The breakfast is one of the best buffets I’ve had in a hotel, something for everyone and fresh pancakes to die for! The golf course is a 10 minute walk and we had lunch there which was very good. Bar Playa a little bit further is a must, beautifully cooked fresh fish. There are 3 restaurants just outside the hotel which are all good, David being my favourite. There’s also a supermarket there that sells anything and everything. If you want more life it’s around 3.5 miles to Cala Bona and a bit further to Cala Millor, a taxi was about €7. Restaurants Port Vel de Mar (stunning setting) and S’Ortage are definitely worth a visit. In summary, this is a fantastic old charm hotel in a beautiful unspoilt part of the island. Great golfing week in lovely setting

    rating10 Apr 2026

Very pleasantly surprised, had an absolutely lovely week of golf in this rather remote end of the island in a surrounding of natural beauty. The hotel is originally a bit of a brick from the 70-ties, but they have done a great job bringing it upp to an appealing good 4 star standard inside and out. Outside pool water on the chilly side in early April. A 10 min walk from the Son Servera golf course, which is a members club. Course well kept, lovely scenery and very kind and helpful service. This hotel is perhaps not the ideal location if you are looking to explore the island (1h from Palma) or if shopping is your main interest, but on the plus side is a lovely sea front location, stunning views (if you choose a sea view room) in a less developed residential area. Very calm and relaxing and good service. And a small supermarket around the corner. We also managed to squeeze in a day of hiking the surrounding hills. Trail starts just outside the hotel. Bring walking boots if you want to climb the peaks, but we found av nice trail fit for sneakers as well, to Canyamel and back. The breakfast and dinner buffets hold a good 4 star quality, with variation and fresh produce. Well done. Nice local wines. Gluten free bread however had to be specially asked for with very limited choice. We did not try the spa due to glorious weather all week. For lunch options see my reviews of nearby Bar Playa and Can Aurelio. Golf club lunch at Son Servera is simple and adequate. All in all highly recommended. Dir Eurotel, General Manager at Hipotels Eurotel Punta Rotja, responded to this review Dear SwedeSthlm,We sincerely thank you for taking part of your holiday to review us, as well as the time you invested in writing your comment. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your golf week in this quiet and beautiful part of the island, as well as the natural surroundings, the sea front location and the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel.
