  Great Location & Comfortable Stay

  We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. The hotel is perfectly situated in the front line of the beach. Having the sea just a few steps away was the highlight of our trip. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment. While the interior had a more vintage/older feel, it was really functional. It was fully equipped with everything we needed, including lots of wardrobe space. The kitchenette was a bit small but well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. We didn’t use the hotel restaurant during our stay, as we preferred to explore and eat at the local restaurants nearby. The service was excellent. Every staff member we encountered was polite, helpful, and professional. We really enjoyed the main pool area; it was a great place to relax, although the water was pretty chilly in April 😊. The only minor downside was the indoor pool. It is quite small, and the water clarity could have been a bit better during our visit. However, it didn’t spoil our holiday at all. The hotel is a great choice for those looking for a well-equipped, spacious apartment right by the sea. We would gladly come back!   We went for a 11 day holidays with a family of 5.The common space in the hotel is clean and ok.We had a lot of space in the family room. Living room with see view balcony, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. The rooms are not cleaned every day which is inconvenient if you have a large family as you produce quite a lot of trash that is not taken The beds are not comfortable. It's a steel frame with a materace and that frame is creaking a lot! Very unpleasant experience especially if you don't want to wake up your little child that is sleeping next to you in a child bed or if you want to be quiet if you know what I mean :-) Boring breakfast - the same thing every day. There are options to choose from but it's very limited.Dinner - live cooking every day; good variety; Important! - no free drinks at the dinner. I understand alcoholic drinks or juice. What makes it worse is that there is even no free water! This is absurd. Juice and water is free for the breakfast so why not for the dinner?This is not a Spanish hotel. It's German.Staff even being local, they speak German a lot. When I said "gracias" they replied "bitte". This makes you not feel like in an another country on vacations (we are not German).The beach is beautiful!! Shallow for quite a long way. There are some rocks but if you move just few meters to the left it's all pure sand there. There is a lifeguard at post.Though it was mid of the season, there were a lot of tourists, it wasn't a problem to find a spot on the beach. Although if you want to have a sunbed you need to wake up early (7am) to reserve one. You have to stay there until the guy comes in to collect money (8am) and only then you can leave back to the hotel. If you just leave your towel (which I don't like) the guy just takes it down and makes the sunbed free again (which I like :-) )Check out is at 12:00 and there is an option to have late check out but they tell you to ask for it a day before your leave. When we did that, no room was left for us. This sucked a lot as we had to stay until the late evening until we could departure and we have a 1 year old child that have to have a day rest sleeping. They were not interested to provide us any kind of other room just to put the little one to sleep in a room that had AC.The good thing is that you can still use the facilities and they provide you with towels so you can refresh yourself before leaving.Overall it wasn't totally bad but was definitely not worth the money we had to pay. Out of courtesy, staff always respond to customers in their own language (German in most cases), but many staff members also speak other languages, such as French or English. Hipotels Mercedes does not offer an all-inclusive package, so all drinks must be paid for, except for breakfast coffees and juices, which we understand are included in the package.As for late check-out, it is possible as long as there are free rooms available, which is very difficult during high season, especially in a two-bedroom family apartment.   Nice journey at hipotel but hôtel a bit old.Staff is very good Buffet was good alsoPool quite small and coldNice situation on the beach The family rooms for 2 adults and 3 children is very appreciated and have a good size.We had a good holiday week there.   Lovely hotel in a great location

  We have just returned after a week staying at the hotel in a one bedroomed apartment. The hotel is lovely, staff were very friendly and the hotel & grounds are immaculately clean.Our apartment was on the 4th floor with great views overlooking the park area to the side, the beach & sea. We had maid service every day apart from one day, but we were kindly notified it was their day off which I thought was a lovely touch. The bathrooms were stocked with liquid soap, moisturiser, body wash & shampoo/conditioner. The balcony was huge with a table & 4 chairs. The bed was huge & so comfy. Great amount of wardrobe be space too, although the apartment was for 4 people and there were only 2 of us.I can’t comment on the food as we were self catering so didn’t eat in the hotel. Neither did we see any of the evening entertainment but from the program they had different acts on every night, singers, magician, parrot show etc.The pool area was large with a choice of sun beds and umbrellas, we loved the fact that it was a very calm quiet pool with no loud blaring music from the entertainment! From the pool it is a short 1 min walk across the promenade to the beach. The only gripe I have is that the shaded seating area near the pool is the hotel’s lunch restaurant so unless you were ordering food or drinks you didn’t feel able to sit & chill or read your book when you needed some shade. I made the mistake one day of eating some crisps and was told I couldn’t sit there & eat, I had to order from their menu or go back to the pool area! It would have been nice to feel like it was a more chilled area, especially when you needed some shade, but it wasn’t and there were plenty of empty tables.The hotel is well situated near supermarkets, restaurants, bars & shops.Overall we loved the hotel, I would definitely recommend it and would definitely return.   We had an absolute great stay at Hipotels Mercedes. Staff was extremely friendly and the hotel is very clean.The apartments are just great for a family with two kids, offer a lot of space and flexibility, e.g. to have a light lunch.In addition, great pool area and great beach.However, it is visible that doors and furniture are rather old. No problem for us. But might be rated by other people differently.Overall, we can fully recommend this hotel and we will come back.
