Location

Situated in the popular resort of Puerto Alcúdia, this hotel is a few minutes away from the beach in one of the best tourist areas in the north of the island. The hotel enjoys one of the best locations in the main street. There are public transport links around 150 metres from the hotel.

    Wonderful small family hotel in a stunning location

    A wonderful hotel in a stunning location. I feel mixed about sharing this little gem of a hotel, only as then maybe it won’t be so easy to book back in, It is a simple, clean, beautifully decorated hostal. Breakfast is not provided but that doesn’t matter as you have the wonderful Rafalet cafe and their renowned sea food restaurant and well stocked super market below with everything you need both a stone’s through below. Trinny who runs the hotel has a great eye for art and decoration. There are some beautiful pieces by the artist Sol de Courreges dotted around and in each room. The rooms are simple but clean and have everything you need. Siting out on the balcony soaking up the view is bliss. Trinny and her family are always around and helpful with anything you need. She recommended car hire at Es calo car hire, they are opposite and have competitive rates and are helpful and run by lovely people too. Car hire in august for a basic model, all you need on a small island was e45 per day, cheaper for longer. Mad Blau offers excellent value for money run by a lovely family. Can’t wait to come back

    Best Hostal in Formentera

    We booked for 5 nights but stayed 7 in the end. Trini and Juan are very nice. We had a double room at ground floor with a terrace and seaview (even if 1st floor would be nicer). Room is simple but well furnished with a small TV, a safety box and a large shower in the bathroom. No breakfast but just around the corner a cafeteria with a great view on the bay can offer a menu for a Spanish or European breakfast. The hostal is in the pedestrian area of Es Caló so very peaceful. You could also rent a scooter there and a supermarket is just outside it to get mineral water, good fruit or also fresh sandwiches. I would really recommend it and be back soon.

    Excellent service with very attentive staff. Very clean with a beautiful sea view for extremely good rates. We were even driven to the port by the owner to catch our ferry home because our taxi didn't arrive. Very accommodating from start to finish. Definitely coming back next year.

    I am a long-time repeat lover of Formentera. This time I chose this great value-for-money place on the sea-front in tranquil Es Calò. I would strongly recommend the single rooms on the first floor, they are small (single bed) however comfortable and have a great sea-facing terrace above a few steps. About halfway into my 10-day holiday I had however to switch (for the same price) to a double room with a real double bed on the ground floor, also with partial sea-view. Try the restaurants Can Rafalet and S'Eufabi when there. Pascual has gone down a bit and was a bit of a deception. At Mar Blau you'll be on the southeastern tip of the island, which is much more tranquil and calm than the north (Es Pujols, La Savina) and you are right on Es Calò beach and a few minutes away from beautiful Es Calò des Mort on the Mitjorn side. Wonderful!
