Location

This B & B warmly welcomes guests in Porto Colom.

Facility

Multilingual staff (English, German, French) are happy to assist and advise.     Just back from a fabulous 4nt stay at the Suites. Every aspect of the hotel delights. Staff through the hotel, from the warm welcome from Paula on reception, to all staff in restaurant, pool bar and housekeeping. Cleanliness was 10/10 in all areas. Food a delicious buffet delight at every meal with a micro wave available should food not be hot to one’s preferred taste. Plenty of buffet choice in restaurant and menu choice at pool bar for all, including children. Rooms spacious, immaculate and beds comfortable. Lovely pool and children’s pool areas again immaculately kept. View from treadmill in spacious, clean gym enough to take your mind from task in hand!Outside hotel is a local community square lined with restaurants. The promenade in front of square is work progressing along the bay and will be a lovely walk when finished. Local beach 10min walk, supermarket 5min walk.Look forward to returning next April/May.     A 10 day stay in Porto Colom, couldn’t fault a thing. The staff have been fantastic- reception staff really helpful and nothing a bother, restaurant staff felt genuinely welcoming. Rooms nice airy and bright and very clean. Visited spa on a duller day. Looked brand new. Pool area fab. Very child friendly. Good location by a square with cafes,bus stops outside - trip to Felanix for Sunday market worth a trip, a lovely sandy beach 10mins walk with beds and brollies to hire and variety of bars and eateries. However a 40min walk along the port side and over a pretty boardwalk was our absolute favourite… S Arenal beach. Loos and two cafes but unspoiled with a fab local vibe.     This hotel for me was all about the suit and Spa which are great the room was spotless and so comfortable. Spa looked brand new pool cold but sauna and steam room are beautiful.     Great stop on our road bike trip

    This was a very nice and convenient hotel on our "around the island" cycling trip. The rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable and the pool and wellness area were quite comprehensive. Bike storage was safe and clean. Service was very attentive and helpful. The luggage transfer to our next destination worked smoothly. Would stop there again.     Overall disappointing experience

    Overall, our experience at JS Portocolom Suites has been rather disappointing given its recognition as a four star hotel.Location - Portocolom itself is lovely and very peaceful, but it’s definitely more for people with children or those who enjoy quieter settings. In all honesty, there’s not much to do besides walking, and there’s only one beach nearby (Cala Marçal), which is pretty but quite small. Accommodation closer to Palma may suit those who are more interested in exploring the city, with variable attractions shops, restaurants etc. Rooms - very basic and does not come with coffee/tea making facilities. Recommend bringing a travel kettle to avoid the cost of renting one. Only pros were that the bed is comfy and shower is very powerful. Views aren’t the best and can be noisy at times if your room/balcony faces the main roads and games area (where there are often people playing air hockey, snooker, claw machines, etc.). Importantly, it's worth mentioning that the WiFi was terrible, and I resorted to using mobile data most of the time. The TV and phone in the room did not work at all, only the main tv in the lounge area of the suite which was placed ridiculously high on the wall you would need to strain your neck. Cleanliness - various aspects that were questionable including the towels looking like they aren’t washed properly, they don’t change bedding, and to our surprise, ants festering in various nooks and crannies in the room. When we raised this with the front desk, the member of staff was not surprised in the slightest and implied there wasn’t much they could do - insinuating that they were attracted to food (despite us not having any kind of food out in the open - we kept fruit in the minifridge). We did ask if it was possible to move rooms but she maintained ants were unavoidable no matter what floor you’re on, which itself is a red flag. The cleaning lady did apparently do something to the area with more ant activity but we still found the odd couple in places like the sofa and along the countertop. Food - breakfast variety was not great, pretty much same thing everyday and it was all cold. Dinner was hardly an improvement, although there was fresh fish cooked by the chefs daily, it was quite bland and I could say the same about the rest of the food - very much lacking flavour. Generally speaking, this hotel is not suited to foodies who like to try new things.Pool, gym & other amenities - pool was big, always had a lifeguard on site, we went off peak so there were plenty of sunbeds, but it could probably get quite busy during the school holidays. The gym was very basic, AC was never on and there was only one treadmill - and that was faulty.
