A great location in a great city.

    rating30 Apr 2026

An amazingly big, beautiful hotel, with plants everywhere inside the lobby and restaurants. Our room had a wall of windows, and it was very reasonably priced. The hotel was about 10 minutes from the train station, it was a bit of an uphill climb, but well worth it. The hotel is close to the city center and the staff was very helpful. The room was huge, clean, comfortable, and quiet. We definitely plan to return to this hotel, as it is in the center of things, and the train station has so many shops and amenities, and the room we stayed in was amazing.

    Nice stay

    rating12 Jan 2026

My friend and I stayed in Hotel Alpha-Palmiers from 31 December 2025 to 2 January 2026 (2 nights). I booked this hotel because of its very close proximity to the train station, the good size of the room and the attractive room rates. We’d a room on the 7th floor (Room 707) facing the courtyard. It’s nicely appointed and very spacious. The bathroom was very big. Thanks to some very large floor-to-ceiling windows, there’s ample natural light. There’s no noise issue. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel so couldn’t comment on it.Some reviews said the hotel staff were rude. We didn’t have any interaction with the them except those at the reception. I’d no complaint about their service or attitude. The room rates for 2 nights were only CHF258.All things considered, I was satisfied with my stay.

    Horrible staff

    rating13 Oct 2025

Helpless staff. Even the top manager is threatening customers. Through my work I'm used to stay on these kinds of hotels, but this one is on my top 3 list of "worst experience ever"The room has no view at all although we booked one with an open view. Then the staff said we booked the wrong type of room in order to have a view.We ended up discussing with the general manager, who is honestly the worst I ever met. I don't understand how his business is still running. He didn't even try to understand the situation. Being that rude with his customer won't help him in the long run Anyway I already prevented 2 of my friends from booking there, but if that comment could help you too...

Pleasant Stay in a Well-Located Hotel Near Lausanne Station

    rating17 Sept 2025

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Alpha-Palmiers. The location is excellent — just a short walk from Lausanne Station, which makes it very convenient for travelers arriving by train. The hotel is also close to key shopping streets and several nice restaurants, all easily accessible by metro. The hotel structure is unique — especially the rooms in the extended circular wing, which added an interesting architectural charm to the experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though the layout might feel a bit unconventional for some. One area that could use improvement is the breakfast spread, especially for vegetarians and vegans. The options were quite limited, and I would have appreciated a bit more variety.Overall, it’s a good place to stay — especially if you’re looking for a central location with easy access to public transport and city amenities.Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main wing if you prefer a more traditional layout.

    Dirty kitchenette and awful staff

    rating31 Aug 2025

I stayed at Hotel Alpha Palmiers for 1 night in August for 178 francs, paying a higher rate for a room with a kitchenette. However, the kitchenette was dirty, with kitchenware and utensils covered in the previous guest’s food.I politely explained to hotel staff that I could not use the kitchenware provided and they became very defensive and argumentative. Prescilla, the receptionist, argued that I should have let the hotel know I intended to use the kitchenette so they could have prepared it better (I paid for a room with a kitchenette for only 1 night so it should be obvious when I intend to use it, it should be in clean condition as the default, AND I emailed them to confirm usage in the days beforehand). Prescilla also said they were too busy to clean everything (the restaurant and hotel lobby were empty) and that the hotel could not provide alternative utensils. In the end, she attempted to clean some of the kitchenware and provided plates from the restaurant. These were also covered in food, which Prescilla insinuated I had magicked up and planted there? She also refused to provide a meal from the downstairs restaurant to cover the cost of not being able to use the kitchenette, and insisted we pay for this out of pocket. She was personally offended and incredibly emotional throughout, and had no professionalism about her. After arguing and getting nowhere, and with no sleep or food after a long day’s travel, we ended up eating from a nearby restaurant, defeating the purpose of paying for a room with a kitchenette. There was also no hotel manager to complain to so you have to email the director which is pretty ridiculous.
