Location

This hotel lies on the steep coastline in the exclusive residential area of Illetas. The hotel is built into the rock, by a small bay which has access to the sea. Illetas' bathing beach is only 800 m away. A scheduled bus service to Palma (about 7 km away) departs from directly in front of the hotel. Shops, bars and restaurants all lie within 500 m of the hotel.

Facility

16 junior suites and 275 double rooms are located on 9 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service (for a fee). Bicycle storage is also available. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the sea view from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Valuables can be securely stored in a safe. Guests will also find a mini fridge included among the standard features. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Slippers are included. A hairdryer and bathrobes are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. Wheelchair-accessible rooms can also be booked. The hotel has family rooms and 291 non-smoking rooms.

Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. The hotel offers a wide range of outdoor sports, including tennis, bocce, crazy golf and archery. For a fee, guests can also enjoy golf. A number of sports are available, including water sports such as snorkelling and aquafit. For a fee, guests can also enjoy water skiing, windsurfing, banana boat rides, sailing and diving. Sport and leisure facilities at the hotel include a gym, table tennis and darts. There is a wellness area with a steam bath and a hammam and, for an additional fee, a spa, a sauna and massage treatments. The hotel offers plenty of activities and entertainment options, including a kids' club, live music and a dance club.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a restaurant (with high chairs), a breakfast room and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast and half board. A generous breakfast buffet, a lunch à la carte and a comprehensive dinner buffet offer plenty of delicious variety. Diet meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options. The show cooking is a particularly special attraction. The hotel offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Just back from a lovely relaxing holiday in my favourite place, Majorca! This hotel is perfectly placed, in a quiet resort with a bus stop & taxi rank right outside, very well positioned to easily get to livelier Palma & the surrounding resorts of Portals, etc. The staff are a real credit to this hotel, from the check-in desk to the staff who work around the pool, a friendly face is always nearby. The rooms are spacious & spotlessly clean, housekeeping do a brilliant job. The pool area has plenty of sunloungers & towels are plentiful. Those are the positives, negatives I would say fall under the Olivia chain or hotel management policy. I’ve stayed at this hotel a number of times when it was a RIU & this is the first time I’ve never received a welcome drink (cava & soft drinks were there but I wasn’t offered one), there’s no mini bar in the room, no welcome bottle of water in the room, no complimentary toiletries, no bathrobe or slippers. At breakfast empty or almost empty platters weren’t replenished, of the four beverage machines sometimes only two were working (this was at 9am & breakfast is served until 10.30am), the quality of the produce wasn’t brilliant & the layout was strange which meant butter was nowhere near the bread & people were wandering around aimlessly. I was there out of season & I can expect it gets quite chaotic during busier times. You may say these are nitpicking things but this hotel is marketed as a four star superior & these are all things you would expect & indeed had when it was a RIU. If all these little extras were in place it would be worthy of its rating but as is the team of hardworking, brilliant staff can’t make up for what is really a no-frills hotel stay experience.     A room with a view

    We stayed at this hotel many times during the past 30 years when it was a RIU hotel. This was our first with the new management. We were both very impressed with the friendliness that welcomed us at arrival. We had a wonderful room at the 7. th floor with a fantastic view of the bay. At night we noticed local fishermen fishing octopus fra the cliffs by means of light. We believe that we also saw dolphins at daytime.Food was very good even better than during the RIU time.Travelling by bus to Palma was quick and taxis plentiful. We didn't use the pool, our fault as it was heated.We are sure to come back.     Fantastic Experience as a Solo Traveller

    I don't usually write reviews but from the first day of arriving at Hotel Palace Bonanza Playa & Spa it became clear to me that this would call for one. I arrived late and hungry after a long flight and was met by such a friendly and personable team of staff that there was no way that I could let my exhaustion taint my first night on this beautiful island. I was provided, despite the lateness, with a large platter of local cold cuts and food, led to my room, which was impeccable and had the best night sleep.Continuing on from this, the staff soon stood out as the pillars of hospitality in this establishment. Sofia, at the bar was a bundle of energy and super friendly and personable. Alex, Adrian, Diego, and Fabio at reception were calm, approachable, locally knowledgeable and just such an asset to the hotel. I have travelled to many places and been to many hotel chains. One of the reasons why I was so blown away by this stay was linked to the fact that the team running the place (the front of house staff) were exceptional.Cleanliness was fantastic, the food was of high quality and overall it was great value for money. Plus the piano in the corner of the reception area was tuned and still calls me. ;)Thank you for an unforgettable stay.     We think this hotel is fantastic. It’s very relaxing. Outdoor pool area is gorgeous. The sea views are stunning. The breakfast is great. Dolphin watching from the table and the À la carte lunch overlooking the sea very very good. Rooms very clean and comfy with lovely sea views. And lovely guests. Chic crowd. Not rowdy. For me it’s perfect. Two days left to go. I’ll be sad to leave.
