Location

The apartments are located in an attractive, quiet area of the residential complex of Porto Cari by the marina of Cala d'Or. Cala d'Or marina is just around the corner and offers superb waterfront restaurants and cafes overlooking the yachts, while there are also some shops and a supermarket nearby. Caló des Pou beach (1 km) and Cala d'Or beach (1.5 km) are 10-15 minutes' walk. The centre of Cala d'Or with its pedestrian area that offers a wide variety of restaurants, pubs with live music and shops is within 10-15 minutes' walk. The charming port of Porto Petro is only 3 minutes by car (3 km). There are links to the public transport network within 150 metres of the hotel.

Facility

Guests can enjoy the pleasant ambience of one of the 74 apartments. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected.     great hotel in great location was what we expected for the rating.     Location was very good. Atmosphere was debatable, we felt like some of the guests could be quite rude and stare quite a lot. The rooms were very clean, we had a view of the marina to start with. We had a bit of a hiccup when we woke up on the second day, ceiling in bathroom was leaking and flooded the room into the bedroom wardrobe too, meaning ALL of my partners clothes were soaking wet. He went straight to reception to report this and they moved us rooms (not with a marina view). And also dry cleaned my partners clothes free of charge. The staff here were very accommodating. The food was very questionable but it’s a 3 star hotel. It was cold most days and very repetitive, we ate out most of the time. The entertainment staff were brilliant. The shuttle bus was very good coming every 10 minutes to take us into Cala gran. Overall, we had a good experience, we probably wouldn’t return to this hotel due to the food and guests.     I really enjoyed my stay here. Rooms were massive, maintained okay but always cleaned and fresh towels/bedding provided when needed. The layout of the hotel is massive and my room was just on the outside of the hotel. It’s well lit at night but I did find the walk on my own a little bit scary. WiFi available for free. There is also a shop which was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is definitely catered towards French guests (especially the entertainment) but it’s not in an uncomfortable way and we never felt left out. Food was good. They had themed nights on- Mexican etc. It was always easy to find a table and we always found the food to be enjoyable. You can also sit outside with gorgeous views of the harbour. Day time and night time entertainment was good. We spent our time at the family pool which was so lovely. Bar and snack bar there too. Snacks were available just after breakfast and ice cream too. There is a shuttle bus to and from the beach and you can also pay to get on the train (we did this and loved it) All inclusive ended at 10pm and it was €8 for 2 double tequila and pineapple juice (definitely more a triple but I wasn’t mad about this ha) Staff friendly and I found all the guests I spoke to to be really friendly too. The local beaches are absolutely stunning too! Overall it was a lovely, lovely stay and I would 100% return.     Really lovely hotel, staff were brilliant, food was slightly repetitive but really good quality with a huge range.Only given one bottle of water at an all inclusive was disappointing- we were advised we could refill it through the week from the water stations but the bottles don’t fit?The room we had was really spacious although disappointed we paid to upgrade to a sea view room to be faced with a dead end road full of bins.The water in the bathroom was always an issue due to a dodgy shower and there is no mirror in front of your vanity desk.Generally we had a great time as the pool area was very tidy and well maintained, great food options again by the pool.Good location on the marina, surrounding areas of bars and restaurants are no more than a 10 minute walk.     Welcoming and friendly staff from the off. Rooms cleaned every day. Great food with many choices. All areas accessible for those mobility impaired. Couldn't fault it. Animacion team were excellent, all French (it's a very popular hotel amongst our French cousins). Location is fantastic, overlooking the marina, with the many bars and restaurants it offers. Free bus into the town every 10 minutes, and the land train stops outside the door. What's not to love. I'd stay again, and recommend the hotel to anyone. Great job team Puerto del sol, keep up the good work.
