    Don't Fall For False Advertising

    rating02 Oct 2025

Terrible experience at this hotel. Not as advertised. Don't waste your time, move on to next hotel option. This is more of a "Hostel" not a Hotel. It's very old & worn out with no apparent interest in making anything work. Reception is entirely "self help" ... there is none, just a unfriendly dude who rarely is at desk and can't lift a finger to help you....such an insult to guests. Old rooms, smells bad, there are very limited items in rooms or none (minimal towels, body wash soap in tiny packets, no lotion, no kleenex, cups, etc...). After a long day, we had to figure out how to check in...on an iPad with the room key sitting on desk. We spend 15 minutes trying to get room key to work in the door (after finding another guest who had the same problem) and this wasn't our first key rodeo. When we did see reception dude the next day he had no interest in assisting. Practically everything is is done via iPad- check in & honor bar (which was crappy). We found it ironic that they had video surveillance cameras in the lobby to see what's going on but couldn't be bothered to help you. Extra linens & pillows smelled worse than if you put them in your basement for 10 years. The shocking part was there was a full window in the shower that you stand immediately in front of when you shower that had no coverings & you are entirely naked to the road up above & the back of the hotel/garden below - in what culture is this OK? In the book for guests in the rooms it talked about ants - don't leave any food out in your room & if you have an ant problem you can get the poison yourself to kill them down in reception area or have them do it for you, WOW. To be in a room that you cannot feel comfortable unpacking or leaving your luggage open is terrible. There's so much more but hopefully his us enough to give you an accurate picture. Others have talked about the steep entry & exit from the property to town, the hotel needs to be clear about that for its guests.Don't waste your time, they should pay you to stay there

Really enjoyable, but becoming more shabby than chic and with some major shortcomings

    rating06 Jul 2025

Hard to rate this property as there are real positives but negatives you can't ignore. On a positive note, the Sa Vall scores highly on the following:- Good central location and about as close to the centre that you can get with a swimming pool (albeit the short sharp hill at the front is a real tester).- Beautiful breakfast terrace with far reaching views, and great for an evening bottle of wine.- Lovely Majorcan buffet style breakfasts with local ingredients that vary daily.- Fantastic and friendly serving staff, who also clean, and make breakfast a pleasure and keep the rooms clean. (More on the gentleman on reception later).- A genuine character building. Ours was the spacious Orquídea (Orchid) suite with terrace, bedroom, lounge area and downstairs bathroom.- A very handy and, reasonably priced, honesty bar with cool water and drinks and wines and spirits.- Mimi the house cat and her nemisis we knew only as 'mini Mimi' to keep you company. So far so good but the negatives are an issue and are so easily solved as follows: -- The property is starting to reach a state of some disrepair. Some window shutters are close to collapse, some window frames in poor repair, and the vegetation in the garden, around the pool, and on our terrace in need of chopping back. The small pool is also now quite shabby with the water features long since out of use. - Similarly furniture in the room is in need of repair or replacement. It's not cheap furniture but drawers won't slide and wardrobe doors swing open. There's also no room safe.- Even worse is some of the garden furniture with broken or uncomfortable sunbeds needing replacement and not enough cushions for the terrace seating. - Be aware also that to get the short distance into the town centre the hill outside the hotel (albeit short and sharp) is very steep and not for the faint hearted. - My biggest bugbear though was the staffing of reception (or lack of it). Before we even arrived, it seemed an age before an attempt was made to take the money from my credit card. When they did it was at about 1am UK time and our bank witheld payment pending a security check. I OK'd that but no money was subsequently taken. 3 emails to the hotel went unanswered and we were unsure if we were even still booked in. Without warning about a month before we flew the money was finally taken without further communication.I also paid an extra 80 Euro's for the hotel to organise the advertised return taxi, but I noticed this was refunded and so we had to organise our own after landing.Upon arrival at the permitted 2 pm slot we entered reception and a youngish chap was already there in shorts and a t shirt who we took to be another guest. He said nothing to start with, until we realised he worked there. He had no interest in our paperwork and simply took us to the room and effectively just said 'this is it'. For the first few days we saw him occasionally but he seldom engaged unlike the lovely ladies. For the last 3 days, he disappeared completely without warning and we had to rely on the same ladies to secure an earlish taxi to the airport on a Sunday morning. This didn't spoil our weeks stay at the Sa Vall, and Valldemossa is a wonderful place to stay but, given the price, the above shortcomings need to be addressed and if they are it could be an equally stunning small hotel.

    Close to center of town

    rating21 Jul 2024

This hotel is located just off of the center of town and is about a 5-10 minute uphill walk. I loved the location given the close proximity and that it had it's own parking lot. The breakfast has a lot of variety to choose from and the fresh juice in the morning was yummy. Our room was located just outside the pool area which made it so there were people outside your room in the afternoon. Not great but doable given we made a lot of day trips. This is not a high service hotel and my initial impression on walking in was not positive. This hotel is also not great if you have mobility issues. The hotel did grow on me the longer I stayed there and I think is a good value especially if you have a large group and need to be budget conscious.

    Beautiful spot

    rating21 Dec 2023

A really magical place just on the edge of Vallemosa. We stayed in the newly converted outbuildings, waking up and going to bed with a beautiful view over valley/town and lovely mallorcan gardens. This place is full of character and charm (aswell as a couple of amusing cats)

Beautiful hotel, but not really suitable for those with mobility issues and wanting to walk into town.

    rating29 Jul 2023

This is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of Valldemossa…downhill! It’s only a couple of minutes’ walk to the centre, through beautiful streets, but the uphill nature of the walk makes it really somewhat unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Room was spacious and well furnished, adjacent t to the small pool. Breakfast was absolutely amazing - freshly cooked selection of items ad well ad the usual cooked meats/ cheeses etc….and an amazing view! Downsides…there are issues with maintenance E.g. pool needed maintenance - we didn’t see anyone attending to it in our 4 day stay…shower button was missing in our bathroom, but these are fixable, but do need fixing. Having said that, we would certainly stay again!
