Location

This attractive and charming hotel is situated in the Valley of the Orient at the heart of the Tramuntana Mountains. The resort with its countless shopping and entertainment venues is approximately 1 km away. A trip to the island's capital to the town of Alaró, 7 km away, is a worthwhile experience, as is an excursion to the coast, 35 km from the hotel. The capital of Palma and the international airport are also about 35 km away.

Facility

7 suites, 2 single rooms and 15 double rooms are available to guests. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk are on hand round the clock to assist guests with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. Everyday necessities can be purchased at the supermarket. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (no extra charge) or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a babysitting service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service (for a fee). Bicycle storage is also available. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. Guests can enjoy the mountain view from a balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. Further amenities include an ironing set and a trouser press. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. Slippers are included. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a bathtub and a whirlpool bath. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror and bathrobes are available for daily use. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Bathrooms with wheelchair access can also be booked. The hotel has non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The indoor and outdoor pools are ideal for exercise as well as relaxation. Refreshing drinks at the pool bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub offer the perfect way to unwind. Sun loungers and parasols are available on the sun terrace. For guests who wish to keep active, cycling/mountain biking, tennis and golf are available. After an eventful day, guests can work out and recharge in the gym. Various wellness options are available at the hotel, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a hammam, a beauty salon and massage treatments. Children are well looked after in the kids' club.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant, a café and a bar. Half board can be booked. At breakfast, guests serve themselves at the generous buffet. Various dishes can be ordered à la carte for lunch and dinner. Special meals, including vegetarian dishes, are also available.

    We enjoyed four nights at the hotel and would highly recommend with a few caveats to ensure this location and the style of the hotel is the right one for you.** Positives **- the staff are so helpful/friendly, both at the check-in desk and the restaurant. Super welcoming. - the indoor and outdoor pool are both really nice. The indoor provides a hedge if the weather is bad, and the outside is simply marvellous - super relaxing/quiet. The upkeep of the garden and surrounding areas is really nice. - unique location in a former monastery - the view at dinner time is lovely. - the terrace/balcony overlooking the field/mountains from the back of the rooms are amazing. So so nice and relaxing. We regularly sat there before dinner. I like how they have a table and sunbed on each terrace too. - the evening restaurant is lovely - we ate there 3 of the four nights. The menu has lots of choices. **Negatives**- the gym: I wouldn’t book this place if going to the gym is a priority - the fitness center is two bikes and a treadmill, in a very small room where the AC doesn’t work. - there is a sign in the bathroom indicating that the water isn’t safe to drink, yet they don’t replenish your water bottle each day. We had to drive to the supermarket. Similar with the coffee pods - felt it was a bit cheap trying to charge us for a whole long packet of coffee pods at the reception desk (given coffee sachets/pods are typically free and replenished each day in most hotels now) **Things to consider**- we had a car so the location worked well for a base to explore the north west. It takes on average around 30-40 minutes to drive to places like Valldemossa/Deia/ Sóller - especially if you’re not a confident mountain driver as there are some windy roads as you approach the hotel.

    There's nothing like a bit of plagiarism but I could not have written any better lines than those below for our experience! We actually stayed for three nights, this being our fourth return visit. The standards remain consistently good and we look forward to our return, hopefully next year!"We have just returned from a wonderful week at L'Hermitage. Such a joy ! Why can't all hotels be like this ?!"A previous review of mine states 'It's been said before, don't go if you are looking for the delights of Magaluf but if you want to see Mallorca at its most natural and best, do pay L'Hermitage a visit!'

    We have just returned from a wonderful week at L'Hermitage. Such a joy ! Each and every one of the staff were charming, helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms with terrace were beautifully furnished and the bathrooms spacious and spotlessly clean. Stunning mountain views, and complete peace with only birdsong and the tinkle of goats bells. We loved it and can't wait to return. Why can't all hotels be like this ?!

    If you work in the hospitality industry, and you want to know how to provide the best service possible, then visit this wonderful hotel! Beautiful place in perfectly tranquil setting. The team is exceptional. From the first interaction on email with the wonderful Antonia to the final warm farewell, nothing was a problem. We had a junior suite which was lovely and spacious. Breakfast lovely, lots to choose from. We had planned to explore the area in the evening but ended up heating in the restaurant every night as it was so good. Providing a simple and free buffet for guests between one and 3 pm is a lovely touch.Hope to return soon.

    Driving down winding roads, we finally arrived at the extraordinary L'Hermitage Hotel and Spa in the mountains. Prepare to be totally charmed. The attention to detail throughout the resort is impressive. Our large suite was refreshingly huge, with a sitting room and a delightful, large wooden deck overlooking olive /lemon orchards. The scent in the air was glorious. The welcome wine bottle with fruit was much appreciated. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Service is polished, but friendly, helpful, and sincere. The spa pools are well maintained. A sublime retreat.
