Location

This attractive beach hotel is situated directly on the promenade at the crossroads to Cala Bona and enjoys a stunning view of the sea. There is a stop for the public transport to be found in the hotel's vicinity, which means that the hotel provides an excellent base for excursions to all destinations. A beautiful park is also situated nearby and the tourist area also lies a few paces from the hotel. The nearest beach is approximately 200 m away and the town centre (2 km away) can be reached easily by car or public transport, which is very reasonably priced. A vast array of shopping venues as well as plenty of gastronomic options such as varied restaurants, bars and cafés along with scores of other entertainment venues await guests in the town centre. There is a nightclub to be found just 100m away. The nearest large town is around 18 km away. Palma airport is some 71 km away.

Facility

5 single cabins and 75 double cabins are located on 5 decks and can be reached by lift. The guest services desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access allows passengers to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The holiday village has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket. The complex features a garden and a playground. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand, a TV room and a playroom. A parking deck is available to those who wish to travel with their own car. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests who wish to explore ports of call by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service. Bicycle storage is also available. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Cabins feature a living area, a kitchen and a bathroom. Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. All cabins are carpeted and have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a sofa bed. Separate bedrooms are available. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. For self-catering passengers, there is a well-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, mini fridge, microwave and tea/coffee station. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) provide all the essentials for a comfortable holiday. The bathrooms have a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror and bathrobes are available for daily use. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly cabins with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The complex has non-smoking cabins.

Sport

There are indoor and outdoor pools and a children's swimming area. Passengers can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. An outer deck with sun loungers and parasols is available. The holiday village offers an extensive outdoor sport and leisure programme, which includes tennis, bocce, beach volleyball, volleyball, crazy golf, golf and archery. For a fee, guests can also enjoy cycling/mountain biking and horse riding. With windsurfing, snorkelling, diving and aquafit available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, badminton, billiards, darts, yoga, callisthenics and aerobics. There is a wellness area with a spa, a steam bath, a beauty salon, massage treatments and a solarium. Subject to charge: a sauna. Leisure facilities include an entertainment programme, live music and a dance club.

Meals

Dining facilities include a café, a bar and a pub. Passengers can enjoy the culinary delights of the non-smoking, air-conditioned restaurant, which provides high chairs for children. Catering options include bed and breakfast and half board. A generous breakfast buffet, lunch and a comprehensive dinner buffet offer plenty of delicious variety. Diet meals, gluten-free meals and vegetarian dishes can be prepared on request. The complex also offers special catering options.

    Great stay with lots of facilities, but some minor downsides

    The breakfasts were standard but quite tasty, and dinners offered a wide variety of options, especially meat dishes. There are plenty of attractions, pools, kids’ pools, and animations – mainly for children but also for adults. A small rooftop bar with a jacuzzi and a nice view was a pleasant surprise.Our basic room was very spacious, with a large balcony and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and palm trees. The staff were very friendly, professional, and the cleaning service was excellent. The location is great too – close to the beach and promenade, and there’s even a supermarket inside the hotel.On the downside, the hotel has a lot of children, which may be a disadvantage for someone who wants a quiet holiday and spends most of the time on-site. Also, only one lift was working during our stay, so waiting times were sometimes long, especially with many families and strollers. Another small drawback was that drinks (including water) at dinner were not included and had to be paid separately.     Not what I booked!

    Not what I booked!I went 3 weeks ago with my son and his family. They booked a 2 bed apartment and I booked a pool view in the hotel. I did not get a room in the hotel but was told my hotel room was in the building next door. My hotel room turned out to be an apartment…the most basic ‘hotel room’ I have ever stayed in…the floor was lifting around fridge, which had obviously been caused by a leak. There was a kettle and cups but no tea, coffee like you would expect to get in any 4 Star hotel! So disappointed with the 4 star standard of my ‘room’. The laundry service was very good with clean towels left most days….even though I hung my towels up so they would not be changed!The dining area was Marins Hotels, Ventas at Hotel Marins Playa, responded to this review Thank you for your comment.     Clean, superb room, spacious and had many facilities (cooker, fridge, hair dryer, 2 tvs). Luxurious hotel with 2 swimming pools, jacuzzis, rooftop bar with great view, spa as well. Entertainment on a good level, there was evening event organised for kids.     TRULY SHOCKING. DISGUSTING SERVICE

    The hotel breakfast was extremely poor quality, the pool was a totally unacceptable temperature. It’s literally freezing with countless guests complaining everyday sat around it.The biggest issue, the disabled area for disability scooters was a disgrace. The scooters we hired didn’t fit through the door, so we could only park them downstairs. I have heart disease and my mum can’t walk and is in a wheel chair. They told us we can’t park downstairs despite that being the only place accessible and if we have issues to contact reception.. we did and reception said they couldn’t help. Then the hotel stole the charger leads, yes, that’s right, just took the leads that didn’t belong to them, the hotel didn’t tell us they had done this, so we didn’t know where they were. The hotel left me, a person with heart disease and an elderly lady in a wheel chair without the use of the necessary disability scooter and offered no assistance whatsoever apart from stealing the charging leads leading us to believe they had gone. It’s disgusting , truly disgusting and we are looking to take this matter further. Shocking !! The hotel has 4 swimming pools of which one of them is heated (indoor) and is at 28-29 degrees. We do not have many complaints about the temperature of the pools. Regarding the handicapped scooters (doubles), which you left in the hotel lobby without informing anyone, we also have something to tell you because the first day you went to the bar terrace with them, the manager asked you to please talk to the reception because that was not the best place to leave them. We were waiting for 3 days and you did not go to speak to the receptionists while the double scooters were still occupying the whole ground floor of the main block (because they are quite big). The only solution that was found to get you to come in to speak to reception was to unplug them. You were then offered the possibility to leave them in the Marins 5 bike room and have our technicians bring them to you when you needed them and you never spoke to reception again.I am very sorry that you felt that the reception did not help you but if you had communicated your problem beforehand or tried to find a solution with us, everything would have gone much better. We have quite a few wheelchair friendly rooms and many guests who use wheelchairs and also have individual scooters booked and we store them without any problem. Best regardsMarins Hotels
