Spoilt and sporty at the Rafa Nadal Residence in Manacor

    rating11 Feb 2026

In addition to the tennis camp at Rafa Nadal Academy I had booked a room at the Rafa Nadal Residence, including an excellent breakfast buffet, and it was perfect. The room came with a one-hour-per-day tennis or padel court offer for the guests, and it was big, very modern, and very well equipped. I had opted for the double room, and I enjoyed the view to the tennis courts (center court and others ) and the nice (outdoor) swimming pool. I got a daily bottle of water, there were coffee and tea and the little water boiler to prepare hot drinks. A mini bar, a plush bath robe, spa shoes and several useful things you might need in your bathroom, if you forget to bring them – toothpaste + brush, comb, amenity set... – gave me a feeling of luxury. As does the nicely designed, modern and light-colored furniture. And very new, too.All the time I felt welcome, pampered even, and the food was excellent – with lots of healthy options, fruit, salads, nuts and much more at all times: Since my friends and I were too lazy to go out (i.e. explore the region) for dinner in the evening, we simply enjoyed the buffet or à la carte menu on offer at the Roland Garros restaurant. (The Wimbledon and the US Open Restaurants were closed, when we stayed at the Academy; off-season would be the reason, we assumed). Guests of the residence have access to the spa (excellent treatments), the fitness room (very well equipped and clean), an extensive yoga/pilates/etc program (somewhere I read, more than 100 classes), the indoor pool (Olympic size) and all the other facilities of the Academy. Hotel guests got free parking in the garage and free access to the Rafa Nadal Museum at the premises. What more could you wish for?

Everything is top. The employees from the academy and the hotel. Customer service is outstanding. The food is quite good without being expensive. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. The Spa, Gym, Fiosio service, nothing to complain about. My best tennis experience ever.

Terrible service and lying reception. Unethical scam for $$. Poor quality clay courts could do with repairs.

    rating27 Sept 2025

Terrible service, reception that lies, unethical & money scam grab at its finest.Paid for 3 nights stayed for 2 and just left!Paid half board €100 approx / day, 1 lunch or dinner per day, chose lunch. Today (Sunday) when booking court and taxi via reception, was told that the Wimbledon restaurant was closed for lunch today. Was offered to swap to dinner instead which we agreed. We paid for our lunch instead which was ok. At dinner, was told we had to pay again for it, we explained what reception lady told us about the swap and they couldn’t do anything so they charged to room as we didn’t bring enough cash down. Went to reception (different staff) and was told we missed lunch so we have to pay. I explained what we were told, the fact we PAID our lunch, and they said it doesn’t matter pay them again more $$$$$. Why lie to your guests?! Their English was great so not a communication issue. Just unethical staff. Other comments:-- museum 4/5 really interesting - food 5/5- hotel 5/5 style and size and cleaning staff- clay courts 2/5 rock hard, difficult to bag, old and need of repair, lines weathered away. - Hard courts 5/5- service sports desk 1/5- service reception 1/5We booked for our teenage son a private 55 min lesson for €85 & received confirmation email, however when we went day before to confirm time & pay cash, booking was deleted and not in their system. And now they don’t have availability at that time either (last day before we leave!). They don’t allow pro-junior kids to join groups, yet looking at the groups it’s just average moon all touch tennis / pickleball style play. I understand they may not want actual tennis players to play with beginners and that’s fine, but surely there’s someone than can rally more than 10 balls? Overall if they remove their unethical and scammy staff, employ kind and friendly and honest peopleand fix their quality of clay courts, this resort has huge potential to be a great destination.

The best tennis experience on the planet!

    rating27 Sept 2025

This is the best tennis experience I’ve ever had. If you want to learn tennis and be immersed in the tennis community, this is the place for you. From beginner to advanced, the Rafa Nadal Academy caters to all skill levels. I promise you’ll love it.

Not great for a solo traveler

    rating18 Sept 2025

I visited as a solo female traveler looking for an active holiday and to improve my padel game. The facilities are impressive, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here on a solo trip as it’s a bit lonely and lacks community feel. The Academy is about 50 minutes from Palma (taxis are €70 each way), so a hire car is almost essential.Padel was my main reason for coming, but the setup wasn’t clear in advance. You get one 90-minute group session per day, and that’s it unless you arrange your own games I think you get the court for free. Private lessons are €65. Rooms are clean but basic, and some overlook the rubbish bins (rooms 230–250, even numbers — very noisy mornings and evenings).Service was mixed: Ana at the front desk was excellent, but another staff member mishandled my airport taxi booking and I ended up missing my flight. Tip: book your taxi in advance. The positives: the spa, gym, pool, and included fitness classes are great.Overall: Worth visiting if you’re in a group or a couple and want the experience of training at Rafa’s Academy. But as a solo female traveler, I’d recommend a dedicated padel camp or local club in Palma instead, where there’s more community and better value.
